when using LST methods to produce more tops, what is the ideal number per plant? Its super easy to get way to many. But where is the target?

I’m not sure if there’s an ideal. I’d say ideal is all you can get in your footprint

However many you want. Biggest point of it all is maintaining a even canopy. A lot depends on your pot size and space restrictions.

There’s no optimal one size fits all answer. Many factors come into play as well as experimenting and see what works best for you.

Check out nugbuckets mainlining thread here. Lots of good info there, even if you don’t go full mainlining. It will give you a good idea of what your looking to achieve by topping and maintaining a even canopy to optimize your yield and space.

As many as humanly possible if you want yield, less if you want bigger prettier colas. Obviously that answer also depends on space and time limitations.

As @T Ray said, an even canopy or as close to even as possible is also important.

indica and sativa

I’m trying my best to lst into my scrog and put my carbon filter on the floor to save vertical space, and still my plants are growing into my light. DWC is overpowered

there is no "ideal number", its just whatever works in your particular environment.

as previously mentioned, an even canopy is important for indoor. some trial and error and you'll get there.

most recent grow just pulled 2 girls from a 3x4 space, had nearly 30 "tops" per 3g pot. topped once. :blsmoke:
