How many ppm to feed in veg and flower and what scale?

Hi guys,

I hate to ask this question but I'm a little confused. I know that I want to feed around 600ppm in veg but is that using the 500 or 700 scale? I'm a dirt grower trying to dial in my grow. I have an idea of what Ppm's I should be using.

Seedlings: 100-250ppm
Early veg: 300-400ppm
Full veg: 450-700ppm
Early bloom: 750-950ppm
Full bloom: 1000-1600ppm...

MY QUESTION IS... is this correct and is this using the 500 or 700 scale?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

Depends on the strain. Some strains are heavy feeders some are light. If possible grow multiple plants of the same strain multiple times taking notes along the way. Play with the PPM' S and Ph levels. Each run should get better and better if you've been taking good notes.

After a few weeks of veg im never feeding below 1000ppm but thats me. Alot of trial and error is what make you a better grower.

Thanks for the responses guys. I've learned that indeed, once clones are transplanted into 3 gallons of fresh dirt, they typically don't need any feeding during vegged. My recent crop vegged for 1 month and they didn't need nutrients at all. Maybe I got a hot batch of ffof. After 3 weeks I fed them a very weak veg solution and got a slight nitrogen toxicity. Nothing that's a big deal but a minor nuisance when you strive for perfection. I'm going into week 3 of flower and have been on a feed/water/water schedule. Have been feeding around 1.0 ec and ph 6.3-6.4 and they seem to be thriving. Using a mix of promix hp and ocean forest for a medium. Bought out the local shops supply and I've never used promix so I figured mixing them would work well. So far it has! I love growing. No matter how much you learn, there's always room for more knowledge!

Looks good.

I feed at 400-450 ppm in veg and 450-550 ppm ( .5 conversion) in flower. That's coir DTW. I use ppm because i need to be able to adjust my mixtures in the 25-30 ppm range.
I also grow in coco DTW, but run my solution @ twice your ppm. I try to keep it in the 800 ppm range with 3 to 4 drip feedings a cycle. I also flush one day a week. I use the KISS method of the Lucas formula with Epsom salt.

Did you have this many plants in your other grows? I only ask because that is a butt load of triming. I hope you have plenty of help
I didn't have quite as many plants in my previous grows but it wasn't that much smaller. I've added more lights and I'm doing fewer plants per. Yes, trimming will be a bitch. There are 3 sets of hands including myself. Should be good. Aside from the trimming, just maintaining this garden is a shit load of work and I'm sore Day in day out. Seriously considering switching to hydro next run. Want to do coco but the guy at the shop tells me it's the same as hydroton. He tells me that flavors won't be any better in coco than they will ebb and flow. But, I find it hard to believe otherwise nobody would use coco.

Just from my experience, you can believe about half of what the shops tell you. The only way you are going to know the truth is by trying it yourself.

Haha. Thanks brother! This is a 4 patient setup so it needs to be moderately sized. I could always get patients help if needed, but I prefer to to only involve people in my inner circle. I've heard way too many horror stories about trimmers before I moved to North bay from Ukiah.

Depending on the instruments your using ya will have to look at manufacturing instructions as will tell you on there which conversion you need to use
