How many plants can I grow with a 750 watt LED light?

used to be 100w/plant with HID; not sure what present consensus is, especially for LED, but be prepared with your light's specs for when the LED folk get back to you. Nonetheless, 100w/plant is a decent rule of thumb; of course, the wattage isn't really what you care about with an LED, its the photosynthetically active radiation you want, so light spectra and lumen output will be of particular importance. best of luck

Now, this would suggest 7ish plants for your tent; of course, different growing styles will permit different quantities of plants. Of course, its not just a question of the number of plants--7 poorly grown plants that suffer from overcrowding in a 4x4 space will yield far less than 2 well cultivated plants;

without knowing any of your goals or commitments, i'd say try out 3-4 in that space and see how it goes.

Theres a thread here called leds and organics which would be worth reading and if you post this in the led section you will get some spot on advise. Personally a 750w led is 325w when comparing to a hid.

completely depends on varietal. Each will be different and respond differently to stacking. Short/Fat [2 - 3.5ft] plants - start low around 4 - 7 per light. Tall/Skinny [4+ft], up to 9 per light.

You'll be able to tell once you get a full stretch out of them. You don't want to see light under your plants, if you still see light after the 3rd or so week of flower, adjust your plant count or training techniques accordingly.

Training with LEDs is a bit tougher than HID, maintain a good lollipop and you should be ok. The filtration of the spectrum from LEDs is quite a bit heavier in our experience, you'll get a lot more green past the mid section that will loosen the buds half way down the stalk. But if you stack the canopy and lollipop well enough, you can keep the uMol on the canopy at the highest levels possible per your light.

Ensure great air flow when stacking canopy.

I run about 800 ACTUAL Watts in LED for same size tent. Since most LED lights only draw 60% of what they are named after, you should understand you are only drawing 420 watts. You are only giving your plants 420 watts too. That is one reason so many people do not like LED, they simply do not understand that the watts stated on package is not the real wattage and they get bad results.

Every single unit that misadvertises the actual disipated wattage is a rip off. You can just assume the product sucks and everything else they advertised is BS too.

Stay away from crap like this.

Btw, if you got "a 750 watt LED", that generic description is somewhat of a giveaway that the product is crap. you didn't even provide us with a link to the product... just assumed all LED units are the same.

Next time, come here first and ask questions so people can prevent you from wasting all your money. You'd likely be a lot better off with a 400W HPS than this LED light.
 
Sorry for any hi-jack but I just invested in two Kind LED K750 (10x5 total footprint) and will be growing Dutch Passion Fem White Widow in coco mix. How many plants would you suggest for this endeavour? I'm thinking four under each should still allow for topping, lollipopping, low-stress training and a trellis net.

Any feedback on the lights vs the general critique of LEDs above would be appreciated.

Sorry for any hi-jack but I just invested in two Kind LED K750 (10x5 total footprint) and will be growing Dutch Passion Fem White Widow in coco mix. How many plants would you suggest for this endeavour? I'm thinking four under each should still allow for topping, lollipopping, low-stress training and a trellis net.

Any feedback on the lights vs the general critique of LEDs above would be appreciated.
Your two Leds are drawing actual wattage of about 860 combined, not enough in my opinion for a 5x10 space if you plan on filling it. you would need 2 more I think for a decent yield.
edit or 1 at minimum

More or less to keep it simple, if you have 4 600 watt leds and they are drawing 250 watts at the wall each then it would be about the same to your plants and will give you about the same yield give or take as a 1000 watt HID light.

Its an approximation as to simplify the confusion around advertised watts of LED vs actual watts of LED's. I know LEDs have become much more advanced and efficient, but on average the yields will be very similar whether you choose HID, LED, of Fluoro, 1000 actual watts is 1000 actual watts and the yield is relevant to the actual drawing wattage of the light vs its advertised wattage.

Except in the case of COBs, where 240-270w of light is proven to put out the PPFD of a 600w HPS in a 4.5x4.5. Watts don't matter, neither do lumens. What matters is PPFD.

In that test was there a side by side with 2 identical clones in identical growing environments or just measuring devices?
