No worries, but all CFL's, even specialist ones, have low penatration, so they are really only good for lighting up dark corners in flower, or for veg and clone stages.
Ecolight, nurturelight and envirolight are the main brands of cfl growlights if your searching for them in your country.

I guess if you had a small grow space, and are using LST grow technique, then CFL's are fine, as they produce low heat, and if your canopy is low and spread wide and even then penatration isn't an issue.

Light is not like mixing paints though. You can see here that the plants will certainly use the purple, and a lot of it, but the purple won't give them any red.

Purple CFL's appear purple, because they emit an optimum of the 2 usable spectrums that that chart shows.

I would still go 50/50 on spectrum. if you had 3 i'd say 1/3 and 2/3 like everyone else has. What size are your bulbs and your area and how big is your area? your not gonna get very much unless you improve your lighting some. Think of it as an investment, for 30 bucks you can drastically improve it. Heres what i started w/before going to hps, although i used 42w not 26w but the 26w will be much cheaper for you. Alright, go buy 2 lightbars, 8 outlet to socket converters, 8 y splitters, and 8 26w 2700k and 8 6500k 26w cfls. Take your outlet to sockets and plug them into the lightbar, 4 each bar, now screw in your y-splitters to the coverters, now put 1 bulb of each color in each, alternating them so the spectrum is mixed up and you dont have 2 of the same color next to each other in the rows.

White light can be split into different colors but you can't split purple up further, I'm tired and a bit stoned and it's something I studied a few decades ago but it's the difference between the subtraction of color or the addition of color or something like that, I forget the correct terms.

They are not purple because they emit 400nm light... They are 'appear' purple because of the mix of wave lengths, look at the chart.
Edit - Well actually, they do emit some UV (purple) light, which is also useful to plants.

Paint mix red and blue get purple

White light, subtract the other spectrums leaving purple
*sigh* mate.. I know your stoned and all, but please look at the chart a few posts back. Yes, light in many ways can't be mixed as paint is, if you mix all shades of paint together, you don't get white, as you would with light, but in some ways it can. And what appears 'purple' on the wavelength charts you are looking at, is actually UVA and UVB light, most of which isn't visable, and is shown as 'purple' on the charts for illastration purposes. If you mix red and blue light, you will get purple... As you notice, white isn't on the charts either, because it is not a pure wavelength, it is a mix, as is purple.

If you can't believe evidence that is right infront of you, then you obviuosly will believe what you will, I guess you also think the world is 6000 years old??
Invest in a red and blue light, shine them on a white peice of paper, and get back to me.

Man, dual spectrum HPS and MH lights have more than just red and blue, thats why they appear white. Purple CFL's are mostly red and blue, and they appear purple, Both these things are facts, why are you disputing it?
