How many days could plants survive in complete darkness?

What would be the effect of flowering plants being in complete darkness for 5 days? What about vegging plants? Would they flower 100%? They seem to be fine but I want to know what to expect now that regular light cycle has resumed...this was due to power outtage

Are you from DC? I would say that if they seem to be recovering ok you should be fine. A hormonal response would have been triggered in the flowering plants to direct all energy to the flowers for seed production to continue the survival of the species. Watch out for hermies. That would be my biggest concern. I'm not 100% sure, but they should resume their normal flower cycle. I've had flowering plants in the dark for 2 days with no reprocussions. As for your vegging plants, they will be fine as long as they survived the outage. Their flowering cycle obviously won't be affected as it hasn't begun yet.

Hope all goes well for you! Good Luck!

Like Canuck said, if they survived the blackout then they'll recover! It won't stop or kill any process but sometimes with stress the ladies turns out hermi and produce some seeds.
