I too have been growing one plant under all CFLs for the past 10 weeks. I'm using 6 total CFLs: 2 65Watt 6500Kelvin daylites, 2 65Watt 3000Kelvin soft whites, and 2 85Watt 3000Kelvin soft whites. With my 6 CFLs I was able to grow my baby out to 27 inches tall and very bushy in 8 weeks of vegging. And now she is 44 inches tall in week 2 of flowering. So I'd say 5-6 CFLs would be perfect if you have the space for a big plant like mine. If space is an issue then I would suggest getting 2 lights instead and just keeping her small and start flowering at about a foot for alright results.

I use 55w compact T5's (2G11 base) bulbs. I love these bulbs since they are only 21" long.

I use one bulb for my moms, two bulbs for seedlings and three bulbs for vegging. I generally veg 3-4 plants at a time. The nice thing about CFL's is that you can keep them only a few inches off the top of the plants. Makes for nice bushy plants.
