Hey guys, just started my first grow and res temps seem to be 60-61F, don't see the weather getting much warmer over the next few months and I imagine that they will cool down 10 or so degrees with the lights off, is this too low? Do I need to get a heater?

You will be fine just dont let it get under 55 degrees i grew DWC fine with water around 58 degrees. Just keep a eye on it if you start too see problems as the temperature drop you may want to look into a heater.

I believe you're sitting just below the optimal low point of 65F
I wouldnt let it drop any lower than it is.
mine bubbles from 61 to 67C
it swings because i have to use ice to keep it cool or it'll raise to whatever the fuck 25C converts to...im done googling for YOU! :)
get a heater :)

they're all blended together in my head now! lol

ps. i was just checking out dissolved oxygen numbers and am happy to report
@60F (15C) you have the ceiling of 10ppm DO
recommended numbers are from 5-7ppm.
so, BOOYAA!!

FML - conversions are killing me today. gallons to litres, mg/l to ppm, grams to ml, celcius to F ... grrrr

beautiful pics! i love seeing roots :)
the best plant (consistent, covered in trichromes, strong plant) i ever saw grow was just a small dwc bucket that i left outside with a baby air pump.
the water must have been 30 degrees, the light was minimal, the nutes and ph were RARELY checked. the nutes were like 3X as strong as i've ever seen again.
this plant was neglected and abused at the same time.
it was topped more times than i can remember because it wouldnt stop growing!! like REALLY thirving! lol
come harvest it looked like it had been snowed on.
I thought dust was all over it...nope!
...
i guess thats nature for ya, and fresh air...lots of city c02 (?) who knows...
It started me smoking again. :) awesome bushy hashplant. smelled so sweet.

you're op must be nice n sterile.
low temps are good for o2 absorption as well.
