HOw long till I see improvement from transplanting into new soil.

I just transplanted my one month old plants into FoxFarm Ocean Forest Soil because I had them in small cups and they started to yellow on the new growth. They have been in the soil for 4 days. I was wondering how long before I see improvement in the plants from being in the foxfarm soil? Like a average time if anybody knows. THANKS!!

They might be a little stunted if you had them in a small cup for an entire month. I just transplanted mine in ocean forest two days ago. I had them in a six inch pot for a month. And even then they were a little root bound. I transplanted just in time. I noticed growth the very next day. It was almost three inches taller, has been growing three to four inches everyday.

I think you just waited too long and kept them in too small a container.

Was the entire cup full of roots?

There were alot of roots, so they will come out of the stunting? It will just take alittle longer?

I did the same thing on my first grow, and It did take a little longer than the others that I didn't put in cups. I then decided I would never use dixie cups again.

ANd I should not give them any nutes? Just let the roots start to get in the OCean forest soil and then my plants will turn green again?

Do you have a pic? Do they look sick? If not? give them time and not to much water

Yes, NO NUTES. They don't need it at that age. At least a month in

mine took 3 days to take off, check it out in my link.

No nutes and give it about 7-10 days and you should be cruising

Ocean Forest. + More perlite

IT has been 9 days since I have transplanted my (4) 1 month old plants into the foxfarm soil and I do not think I have seen to much improvement. Still looks like the new growth is coming out yellow. 2 days ago I went ahead and watered my plants with 1/8 strength nutes just to maybe jumpstart the greening. I hope it helps until the roots get into the Ocean Forest soil good. What do you guys think my next step should be???????

They were a month old and still in cups? If they were root bound it might take them a little extra time to stretch out and start to grow again. Give it some time.

pretty sure those nutes will only worsen the problem. Keep us updated!

Well you are right. I waited a week after I put the plants in the foxfarm soil and then I gave them a 1/4 strength solution and 3 days later I started seeing burned tips. I should of listened and now I am paying the price. I cannot believe I did that. I have learned my lesson now. So I Just gave them plain PHed water yesterday. I guess I will just Keep giving them Plain water for a couple weeks and hope that they recover from the slight nute burn. DAMNIT!!

WOuld it be better to flush or just Keep with the plain water?? I only added nutes once.

Here is the update. They are a month and a half old and I put them in Transplanted them to Foxfarm Ocean Forest 2 weeks ago. A week after I transplanted them. I gave them 1/4 nutes and now they are looking really burned. It has been one week since I gave them the nutes. The past two other times I gave them just water. No flushing. Like just enough to make sure they were watered for 3 days. I watered them last night with just water. In two or days when I water again, Should I flush them or or just give them water until a small amount comes out the bottom. I have them in 2 or 3 gallon pots. I do not want to flush all the nutes that are in the ocean forest soil, but I am just not sure what to do. The new growth still looks yellow on the top of the plants. I just need these plants to surrive. I have been trying to get this off the ground for the past 5 months and keep messing up. I am burning up so much time. My PH meter has been reading 6.4 and 6.5

It might not be worth it to continue to grow them. You can try, but in my experience it wil keep frying up if the problem isn't fixed immediately. Even then your plants will never be totally perfect. I suggest getting somthing else started and trying to revive these. check my journal. I have only fed nutrients @ 1/4 strength on 2 waterings the whole grow. I water till water flows out the bottom. I keep the root to soil ratio at about (65% root mass) (35% soil) this is important for proper waterings and root health & helps keep stabile ph levels.
