how long should my plant take to show its sex?

So here's the skinny(if you will): Today is day 6 of the flowering cycle, aka last thursday i switched to 12/12. My plant is still not showing sex or any effort to produce buds, just keeps pumping out leaves. lots of leaves. how long should i wait before i rule it a light leak and start taking measures to fix that?

I dont really think there is a light leak because I put a towel across the bottom of the closet door and leave the bedroom light off unless I absolutely need it. so there is a "buffer zone" of sorts that is always dark at night. there isnt another light bulb within 30 ft and 2 rooms.

If anyone could help me out I would be very appreciative as the plant is still growing aggressively and will be growing out of the coverage range of my 150w hps light soon!

Can you put a picture up? If I can see what you have I might be able to help you. Depending on how long the plant vegged for before you put it into flower, it can take between one day and ten days. I've never had a plant take longer than 10 days to show sex. Do you see any pre-flowers?

I cant post a pic right now, sorry i know it is lame to ask for help on something you cant see. The plant vegged for about 2 months, it is probably 14 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter. Im not sure what a pre-flower would look like if it were there, but all of the sites of new growth (whatever those may be called) look to be pushing out another set of leaves...

I'd really like to help you my man, but without pics my hands are tied. All I can say is make sure you have no light leaks by sitting in the room when the lights go out for the dark cycle. If there are no leaks, wait a bit longer. Some strains do take longer than others to show sex. Good luck.

hey my plant grew 4 in. within the firs 24 hours is that good? at 2 months its roughly 16 to 18 in

why wouldn't it be good? as long as the nutes are okay and the light is good, then the faster its growing the better ^^ and bigger.
