You have to veg alot longer then 4 nodes.. How old is the plant?? I vegged till mine were about a month old due to limited space..

Have heard rumors from folks on here that clones don't need any veg time at all. Just start them in flower as soon as they are rooted. Now never have practiced that technique. I usually let them veg until they get half as tall as the ceiling in the flowering room. Last batch of clones vegged 2 months keeping them fimmed and topped waiting for their Moms to ripen up.

wait for the nodes to start showing inter-nodal growth -- once you see stuff popping out of the joint, you CAN, but i like to wait until i have a bushy one :)

Plants in hydroponics will grow two to three times bigger when they flower. I usually veg three weeks and mine are huge in the end.

I figure a 13 week cycle, 4.5 of veg and 8.5 of flower. If it needs to go over it goes over.

I veg for 3 weeks top's from seed now with my particular strains. In DWC. They all finish at or beyond the grow characteristics and hieghts given by the breeder's..
So depending on ur style of grow..Soil or hydro?...
And the size of ur grow space this will determine how long u want to veg..
Peace.

I wait until the plant shows me it is mature. It's mature when the leaves are not right across from each other. Some strains do that at 4 weeks and some wait a bit longer. I usually send mine to flower at about 5 weeks from emergence of the seeding. Just watch for the change.

I do it by the size.
I currently bloom at 6-8" so they max at about 2.5 ft.
If you bloom at a foot they will easily be 3-4 ft tall at the end.

It is all relative though to your lights and how you fim, prune, supercrop, etc.
It is also all relative to how much you are trying to yield as well and how often.

If you are doing personal vs. business its totally different. I am like 50% personal here so its not important for me to "maximum yield" and also inherently "maximize risks"... weigh your needs/wants. Big plants need big lights and create BIG SMELLS. LIKE WHOA. I had 3- 4 footers that easily stunk up a 2000sq ft house.

Play with it.
