How long can cutlings stay in water?

I want to trim bottoms but i want to leave them in water for maybe 1-2 weeks before putting them in rockwool under dome. How long is too long in a cup of water for cuttlings? I know they can root in water but i mean what is thr max in terms of transferring into rockwool under a dome?

I'm pretty sure if you change the water once or twice a day you can keep them in water the whole time. Make sure the water has a pH of 5.5-6.5. The rooting process will be slower without gel or powder.

I've read (but not experienced) that RGH isn't needed. You can clone in just a cup of water also. I have done this with OTHER plants but not cannabis. I have only cloned like once in a DIY cloner with airstones and regular tap water.

I swear I am always with limited resources, always wanna be a cheapskate with my grows.

Shouldn't be problem leaving them that long if you change the water everyday. They will probably start to root by then.

Thank you all. The reason is that bottoms can be trimmed but the plants are not near big enough to fully trim. Planning to fully trim in a week or two but cant waste what I cut now trying to maintain symetry as much as possible.

I live in Washington state and have a medical licsense.

Why not wait for the plant to be ready for a full trim? Anyways you'll probably have roots by then or a dead cutting

You would more than likely have roots by 2 week ,but keeping them in water helps with wilting if you leave em in water for 24 hour, before putting in medium,,but you can leave em in there for easy 2week prob longer

Just for shits and giggles i put a few cuttings in beer cups full of just plain tap water... changed the water a few times over the course of a month...when one of the cuttings finally started to root...

But all the cuttings stayed nice and green the whole time they were on the kitchen table....

I've seen some people just clone but leaving the stems in water not sure how good it works but I'm set with waiting a month so I never tried it.
