Hello,

Well been looking all over the place at places to move to I can afford I am on disability and disabled Vet also max rent I can pay is about 600 but don't want to live in the dumps.
Was looking at Chico and it seems kind of nice prices didn't seem to high on apartments.

I currently live in Nevada I am in the process of getting my MMJ card but only place to get MMJ is in vegas right now and that's a 6 hour drive one way.
I have cancer that is terminal at some point I just don't know when yet and I am looking at doing something different with this last little chunk of my life.

So whats the verdict hows chico or the surrounding areas like orville could I live there on a small budget?
I really want someplace kind of peaceful and not crazy just want to relax and live peacefully without worrying if my apartment is going to get ripped off or my car jacked.

Up above Chico, it is a little cooler(temps). Definitely slower, and a little cheaper also. I leave my doors unlocked at night, no problems. I would never leave a door unlocked in chico;-) Oroville, forget it. Tweekerville, big time! Above Oroville is ok, but not so many(if any) apartments up in the sticks.

Just an FYI, you basically can't grow outdoor in Chico or P-town. You can if you have a 1/2 acre, but only 50 sqft area. LAME!
If you grow outdoor in Magalia, you will most likely get ripped off.
And oh yeah, there are no MMJ clubs in Butte County. So, if thats the way you get your meds, you'll have to drive a bit. Or check CL for delivery, which I don't know anything about.

You probably wont be able to grow outdoor if moving into apartment, but.. If you are thinking of renting an apartment or room, you would need to make sure the landlord says its ok to grow indoor, ect.. There are many people in Butte County who live on Social Security checks and grow cannabis on a limited budget. I would think that growing cannabis in an apartment would not happen out here. Your best bet may be in looking for a room-to-rent on a house with a yard who is 420 friendly.

Grow size limits, if you live in the unincorporated areas of Butte Co. (non-city limits), there is a max for outdoor cannabis based on distance from neighbors, size of yard, ect. They have, "Code Enforcement Officers" driving around looking for violators and they can ticket you if your garden is too big. I`m not trying to encourage you a little but I can drive down the street and see neighbors with outdoor plants in their yard. One guy has a 7ftx7ft plant with buds the size of your leg on it, visible from the road. lol. In order to discourage thieves, everyone around here has guns and home protection.

First, check the laws if you move into city-limits/unincorporated areas.

I can tell you that up in P-town, people are saying fuckit to the
Rules. I also can drive down most roads, and check how all the beautiful ladies are doing:-D
I'm def not the one to push it though. I have to drive to my partners house 20 minutes away, to get my outdoor on. Like I said. LAME!
I should be working on the garden today, but sort of threw my back out playing tuscan ridge yesterday. God i'm getting old! Lol

Oroville is the butthole of California.
If it wasn't for fishing the feather(which this years salmon season sucked balls because of the flows), I would 110% agree.
But because of the feather(and I guess the disc golf course at riverbend), i would put Oroville as the second biggest butthole in cali:-D
There HAS to be a shittier town then O out there. Rite? Maybe? Lol

Thanks for the info guys.
I would like to grow but unless like you said I can find a house renting a room/aprt that is 420 friendly that will be hard.
Found one in Vegas but since its taking them 2 months to process cards right now I lost the place couldn't get down there quick enough.
I will keep checking craiglist and see what I can find.
