It will take some time for you to network wherever you go, but if you grow quality stuff you should not have any problem selling it. If you can walk into a dispensary with a nug of dankness and say here try this, and know that they are gonna want to buy more, then you will do just fine if thats all you are looking to do.

I know a guy who sells 2 pounds a month to a dispensary for $4000 a pound. He has been doing it a long time.

Most of the bigger cities markets are already saturated, but there are still a lot of smaller cities that don't even have dispensaries yet. Everywhere you go, there is money to be made. But remember, the economy is suffering. And less and less people have money these days. So its cutthroat out there.

Getting the licencing is going to be one of the biggest challenges. I've talked to a few owners and they have all had lots of issues with this. They have had lots of issues period. A lot of dispensaries will start up but they never make it far enough to open the doors. Its a pretty tough business to get int,o but if you are determined and you have some serious start up cash its possible.

You have to grow 70% of what you sell here I think thats the law. The rest you can buy from third party vendors.

If you ever come to Colorado hit me up.

just so you know...... NO dispensaries in Colorado are allowed to buy your crops. Dispensaries are required to grow 70% minumum of their sales. They can buy the remainder of their needs ONLY FROM ANOTHER DISPENSARY . They have to start their own warehouse. You can't even apply for a liscense until August 2012. Starting July 1st , sales are recorded on video camera. Colorado is great if all you are looking to do is grow your own supply. If you are looking to make money ......... this is the wrong state.

griffin thanks for the good advice that helped out on my decision alot....my plan was to wait until i received my taxes at the first of the year before i made the move so start up money wouldnt be a problem, but i am still a newbie. i am working on a grow right now but im using an autoflower strain. im not looking to really make a living off of it but i would like to grow enough to save up the cash from my crops so i wouldnt have to struggle, and if i ended up getting good at cultivating then yes, i would consider full time. but i would want to do one of the seminars they have there. ive checked out greenway university and also cannabis university in CO. i just want to make sure i have all the tips and tricks before i try and start a nice grow and it all go to shit.but if i make the move griffin i will def. hit you up. thanks again bud.....and dadio that kinda puts a damper on things. do you yourself grow for dispensaries or just a small commercial grow? great advice from the both of you, but dadio your's breaks my heart.......

I don't mean to break your heart. I just want to be up front and honest with you. I have two friends that own dispensaries here in Fort Collins and they both say what a hassel it is to run a store. The State is always changing the laws on them and the lawyer fees are running high. I only grow for myself but I was running an edible kitchen for two years. Couldn't keep up with all the changes and fees to stay legal. Now I'm not saying that you can't still make your bills by selling a few grams out your back door to a few choice friends.

i feel you 100% i was just under the impression that if you had the license that you could grow it and take it to the dispensaries. i wish it was easier than that but hopefully i can find some more information out within now and the first of the year so i can make my final decision. i have 2 kids and dont want to make the trip out there if its just gonna turn around and bite me in the ass.

You're FOS. It's stone cold illegal to sell to dispensaries in CO and none of them have bought from vendors in over a year.

that sucks....but hopefully the future holds new doors to be opened for the ones who missed that train...sucks when your dreams go up in smoke but maybe one day....maybe where i live i can do small commercial grows and be able to make some extra cash off of it...thanks guys for helpin out and not being complete assholes like some of the peep on here, esp. with me bein a newbie im tryin to learn all i can about the beautiful plants so i can at least grow my own dank weed. i hope you guys can check out some of my other posts of my grow and maybe give some pointers on that as well...thanks again everybody

sorry to burst the bubble, but CO isn't the place anymore. the above few statements are correct (Disp can't buy from individuals, only other Disps'). and to buy into a dispensary, the owner must have been a CO state resident for at least last 2 years ... so you be hosed there too. keep an eye out for the future states, like FL (2012 ballot initiative)

Check out Maine. Most lenient state in the country for Cannabis and it is surrounded by some of the least lenient states where prices are high.
