How far out? Testing?

Ok, so these pictures are about 5 minutes old.

As of now I'm on Day 40 of flowering and was wanting some feedback on how they look and about how far from harvest they may be.

These ladies started from clones and are about 3 feet each. One is a Trainwreck, the other a Sour Diesel.

Another question I had was about testing them out.

Will it effect the plants progress if i clip off a test bud? And if I were going to cut where, where should I take it from?

Ahhhhh, they look so beautiful and smell so amazing and they sleep next to me every night! I want a taste so bad! Haha, they are just like women...

All good things come to those who wait bro!!!! Its like courting a hot chick for months as apose to one you can get quick and easy......The ones that make you wait is always sooooo much better

well it is way too early for that plant to test anyways, 40 days....if you must taste and you cannot resist wait till 50 days to pluck a tester nug. I cheat sometimes and take a small nug from the middle of the plant, best place to test from.

I'm going to get a radioshack microscope today after reading more, and I'm going to go ahead and try to wait it out.

So I found I was too shaky to use that little microscope, so I got a magnifying glass from CVS that does 4x, and i can see the trichomes and their little mushroom heads pretty well, they looks shiny and clear for the most part, plenty of flowering time left i'm sure. I read about 7-8 weeks on the Trainwreck and 8-9 on the Sour, can anyone out there attest to that??

a week or 2 at most before prime harvest time is the only time worth it to clip a bud, and I only do it so I can have something dried and cured for a week or so to smoke while harvesting the rest.

Yes the trichs are telling me they want more time, haha

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Just wait it out
