How expensive is Advanced Nutrients? Really?

A fellow industry member has basically proven on another board that "blazingtimes" and "hookahma", are both spam accounts (along with dozens of others) created and written by Big Mike of Advanced Nutrients to defend negative posts about his products. Read some of their posts and you definitely see a pattern. Just an FYI...

It is true that AN is overpriced but it is also true that AN produces the best buds ever. Okok some other brand will produce high quality buds as well but u know..
I once went cheap with nutes and was disapointed, esspecially with the taste/smell of the finished product. AN produce some hard dense fully crystalized buds for sure. Awesome taste and smell! But doe's it worth the price?
It's all about opinions, it's like, why paying 100,000$ for a Bentley while you can get a Honda that will go faster for 20,000$? Well some might prefer the luxury while others prefer best bang for their bucks..

I don't use the whole products line mainly cause of their price but i use few of them;
- Sensi (A+B) Grow/Bloom
- B-52
- Sensi Cal-mg Bloom (YES! I use it in both veg and flower)
- Bud Blood (Still have some but won't buy it again)
- Big Bud Powder (Will get liquid next time!)
- Overdrive (Nice to have in the final weeks!)
- Carboload (A MUST)
- Sweetleaf (Also good to have but they came out with Bud Candy witch is Carboload+Sweetleaf together)

AN is a good product but they could have gone easier and cheaper.

AN base is fine...it's all the other shit I just can not comprehend justifying
I'm a newbie who has chosen a homemade self watering 6 & 6 site hydro setup. I'm leaning towards using AN Sensi series because of the ph perfect technology. Makes it so much easier for a beginner. They also have a bigger yield hobbyist bundle as well as ph perfect sensi due to be released 8-15, according to the website. I found that you can get all the items in the bundle on ebay or just about anywhere else. The bundle AN offers is buy 3 get 1 free. Save about $30.. But according to the website you can acheive ph perfect technology if you use what's in the bundle combined with the current sensi line. Why then would one need to wait until the ph perfect line hit the market?? These are the nutrients: Sensi A & B Grow and Bloom, Voodoo Juice, Big Bud, B-52, and Overdrive. You can get all of these on ebay for around $200 for the liter bottles. Not a bad price if it does a complete cycle...
I've heard GREAT things about GH Flora Series. They are considerably cheaper and supposed to be just as good. But if you factor in ph and ppm equipment it comes out about the same in the long run. So which do I choose to start out?

My question would be : If you get this kit and it keeps the ppm and ph in check and all, than what will you learn? If your sole purpose is to get some bud in those lungs, than the AN perfect scenario may be the way to go.

The new AN formulation dilutes the original base formulas with humic and fulvic acid and wet betty, by 50%, so in effect you are getting half the nutrient as the original formula. If you were to decide to grow with an inert medium only, such as hydroton, this would be a waste. AN is also geared for bigger grows where the % invested in nutrients is minimized. For the small time grower, it's so pricey.

For a noob, I would recommend GH basic G-M-B, koolbloom (in quarts if your grow is < 6 plants) with a ph kit (using drops and a visual scale) and a cheap TDS meter (HANNA PRIMO comes to mind.) You will learn all about concentrations of nutes and ph swings throughout your grow. GH has some pretty good PH buffering so it usually isn't a major issue. Another good thing about GH is they have 1.5% soluble Mg in the bloom so there is usually no need for a Mg sup.

I did a little calculating and found that BUD BLOOD costs $1.44 a gram for the P-K and only 45 cents a gram for koolbloom. This just gives you an example of the average cost differential. If I were growing 60 plants I would definitely go AN PH-PPM Perfect because I would love a product that was near fool-proof and saves me time. But for a noob? No . Education is more important.

LOL...

This is awesome. Apparently you know me better than I know me.

I actually find it funny when people try to 'call out' other profiles. Look dude, who's to say that you're not some person from a nutrient company, just trying to point out anyone that might be dissing your company.

Just saying.

Now that that's been said, I don't think I have EVER ripped on another nute company. And that seems like something that Big Mike would do if he wanted to. But if I were him, living in the lap of luxury, no doubt, I would spend my time working on my nutes, not talking to a bunch of anonymous growers on these boards who apparently have the time to rip on other people, rather than working on their grows.

That would be a super waste of time.

I think you could focus more on growing. LOL.

I'm a real person. Even if you don't believe it, I know that it's true. I grow. I grow with AN and I have for years. It works for me and I don't care if everyone else doesn't agree with me. I'm not trying to talk anyone into my grow schedule, just sharing what I know.

Good luck on your growing man.

I really didn't want this to turn into a AN bash, I am a firm believer that a good deal is what you perceive it to be...... If you like what AN does for you then you see a value in there nutes. If you don't use them then you obviously don't see a value in them. The point of this thread was just to show what it costs to use them. I personaly like the fact that there are so many choices and that hey have developed a system and it is a system that works. I look at it this way I like to surround myself with nice things I don't drive a super nice car or any thing ( an above average Saab 95), and so that same mentality of money buys quality and I don't feel bad paying for the NUtes, advertising, etc... I JUST WISH THEY WOULD MAKE BETTER FUCKING BOTTLES.

BIG MIKE IS YOU READ THIS FORUM FIX YOUR FUCKING BOTTLES ALLREADY< WE PAY A PREMIUM AND I EXPECT >>> NO DEMAND !!!!!! A PREMIUM QUILITY THROUGH OUT< NUTES BOTTLES EVERY THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a big fan of Advanced Nutrients, and mainly use their entire organic line. The first thing I noticed when looking at your nutes & schedule is that you aren't feeding your plants carbs during Veg. Bud Candy is a great product, and I love using that in smaller doses during veg as it will promote healthier growth. Plants need a well rounded nutritional diet, the same as we humans do. Carbs are the most important piece of our diet, consisting of approx 50% for the avg adult. Treat your plants the same! Give them what they want! I would also recommend adding Grandma Enggy's Humic Acid & Fulvic Acid to your schedule both veg & flower. This will greatly increase nutrient uptake, and the organic acids will also help keep your salt levels in check over time & helping to break them down n flush out. I think you're buying way too much for your flower cycle. Choose either Bud Factor X or Big Bud. I say Factor X because it's organic, but that's up to you. Organics may be slower at release, but it is MUCH harder to burn your plants, and the rich natural sources used such as earthworm castings & fermented compost really give you a taste & smoke that will be unmatched by any synthetic product. Good luck!

My Nutrient Closet:
-Adv Nutrients Organic Iguana Juice Grow
-Adv Nutrients Organic Grandma Enggy's Humic Acid
-Adv Nutrients Organic Grandma Enggy's Fulvic Acid
-Adv Nutrients Organic B Complex
-Adv Nutrients Organic Nirvana
-Adv Nutrients Organic MotherEarth Super Tea
-Adv Nutrients Organic Voodoo Juice
-Adv Nutrients Organic Bud Candy
-Adv Nutrients Organic Final Phase
-Tropical Organics Banana Extract
-Botanicare SWEET Organic Carbo (Berry, Grape, & Citrus flavors)
-Botanicare Organic Cal-Mag
-Botanicare Organic Silica Blast
-Roots Organic OregonISM XL Beneficial Bacteria w/ Yucca, Kelp, Alfalfa, & H-2
-Espoma Organic Garden Lime (Raises/Neutralizes PH to 7) & Organic Soil Acidifier (if PH ever gets too high which is rare with my water source)
-Lots of EcoSmart Organic Insecticide
-Just ordered some Adv Nutrients Kushie Kush, as well!

And yes, some products seem expensive compared to other lines, but you will more than get your money back if you feed properly and don't get too excited about having so many products and burn the shit out of them... Moderation is key!

Ha! Did you have any productive input you can throw in on the subject, purple, based on previous use? Or are you one of those people who bitch about Advanced Nutrients, but have never ONCE given them a try?

Price usually turns people away from them, but if you take a look on eBay you can actually find their entire line pretty cheap... Now let's all think really hard for a sec n try to figure out what the more logical solution is, BUY CHEAPER NUTRIENT LINES AT FULL RETAIL FROM YOUR LOCAL HYDRO SHOP? OR THINK AHEAD AND PURCHASE THE BEST OF THE BEST NUTES @ WHOLESALE ONLINE AT THE EQUIVELENT OF WHAT YOU SPENT ON INFERIOR PRODUCTS? Hmmmmmm

And if you looked at my nute closet, you'd know I don't just preach AN... I think Botanicare, Tropical Organics, & Roots Organics are great as well

Because of your attitude, I'll never buy any AN products. You think your shit is the best, when it's not. This is the first time ive ever posted in any type of AN thread and only did so because I hate when some troll comes on the forums to back up their product. I have never tried AN and WILL never; I shouldnt have to pay hundreds of dollars for some nutes that I can find for $10 that last me many grows.

"I have never tried AN and WILL never"

That's all you had to say purple, cuz that just screams pure ignorance on the matter... The difference between you & me, is that I HAVE tried Advanced Nutrients. AND I've spent the money to try other brands, both synthetic & organic. I've read forums from 30 yr growers and found out how they grow 5-10lb monsters outdoors. I've grown plants right next to those grown with Advanced and seen HUGE differences, from vegative growth & flowering, to final appearance, flavor, & potency. You seem to be close-minded on one nutrient line, and know very little about others.

So... How can you expect to answer a guys original question about Advanced Nutrients or even comment on anothers post, if you've never tried it and don't know what the hell you're talking about? There's obviously a reason you can't afford to buy the more superior lines, and that being that your inferior products are effecting the final value of your crop so there's not enough change to pay up for what they're really asking for on your upcoming cycles. Til you realize your ignorance, stick to posting about stuff you know about.

DO I have this right, you spend 30.00 for your plant's food and it lasted 5 grows.? Please do tell what you used if this is true

I'll say it again.

I'm in the wrong damn end of this biz.

$740? You are insane.

I spent $30 bucks LAST YEAR in my Labs feeding the girls.
That covered 5 grows. And they were not small grows either.

Oh and btw, I do have pics posted of my grows and many more that have not been posted.

I think I spent more on ph down than nutes last year.

Crazy, crazy world I live in,,,,,,,

So much hate!
I'm still on my first grow and I'm bumming it with the MG yup.
Plants are growing fine I just mix a little MG with rain water and my 4 girls drink it up.

I just got some MG flowering nutes at the walmart and I gave them a drink a few hours before their nighty night time, hopefully they survive the night right? lol!

I have some seeds coming of an actual strain for next time, not just the seeds outta my last purchase... perhaps then I will invest in some better nutes.

Again, showing that I've tried various brands... I have tried Miracle Grow. I would say the best success I've had with them was the Miracle Grow Blood & Bone Meal. Worked great for slow release on my outdoor soil. I'm not like purple where I'm gonna dis any brand out there aside from the one I use. And if he looked at my nute closet list, he'd also have seen that I use Botanicare, Tropical Organics, Roots Organics, Alaska Fertilizers, General Hydroponics PH Down, Espoma Organics, EcoSmart, ... All I'm saying is that, you get what you pay for in many cases. ALWAYS, may the buyer beware. However, I have gone down the road with so many lines and I would say that the Advanced Nutrients organics that I use are by far my favorite and have shown me better results than all the others that I have and even still use. It's simple fact that AN is a leader in cannabis related research.

Would you rather grow with a formula releasing NPK ratios designed for tomatoes, roses, & geraniums?

Or would you rather trust a product, such as, AN Kushie Kush? Where botanists actually took plant tissue samples every day from various kush strains (both from seed & clone) and studied their nutrient uptake levels at different parts of the plant and designed proper feeding formulas accordingly?

I'll take the latter ... Roses really smell like poo poo =)
