How Does This Stealth Cab Grow Rotation Sound To You???

First and foremost I want to keep my plant count to a minimum. I guess the best way would be to just grow one at a time from bean to bud, rinse & repeat. I'd like a little less turn around time though once I get established. So cloning is my option. So my thoughts are to grow a lady for a longer than average veg cycle, take a couple clones and flower the mother. I'd keep the 2-3 clones until one was a clear standout, destroy the others and grow the "winner" out and veg it for as long as it's mother is flowering. Then repeat the process at harvest time, take a couple clones of the new "mother", mover her into flower... yadda yadda....

To my newb brain this seems to be about the most logical process to keep a perpetual grow going. I've considered keeping a dedicated mother in veg. But I don't want my veg area to be completely taken up by a mother. I know you experienced cats are probably rolling your eyes reading this. Please keep in mind at some point you knew as little as I do now. I am just trying to gt a pretty defined game plan laid out before planting. I don't like being a "I didn't plan this shit out... whata I do now??" type.

Thanks,

I had this plan once... there wont be a 'clear winner' when taking clones from the mother they will be exactly the same as the mum. They'll only differ if you mess one of them up somehow.

The reason I didn't go with it is because I didn't have the space. Another reason against it is because taking clones from the mum then clones from the clones etc. Is that after I think 10 generations you'll start to see some sort of genetic degeneration, though 10 generations is a lot of grows :) and in between you can start a new seed mum while others are flowering etc.

Your best bet is to grow 1 mother, and keep her then take clones, root clones and flower the clones. My plan is to keep a maximum of 9 plants, so far I'm meeting my needs with 3 and eventually 1 mother (so 4 total). Check my grow for some ideas on efficient gardening if you want :)

Thanks man. The reason I was wierded out on the idea of keeping a mother long term is that I'd have to keep her in the veg/clone compartment of my stealth cab. I though this would end up eat up all of my growing space for the clones I was vegging out. How would I keep her growth in check in order to keep her from overrunning the space?? After a lot more reading it's pretty apparent you can prune the everluvin crap out of a healthy plant and they seem to be none the worse for it. Now I am leaning more toward keeping a mother for 8-10 months and then popping another bean and flowering out the old mother.

For now until I get a bit more experience I am going to be using feminized seed. But when I get to a point that I am comfortable with what I am doing I'll order regular seed, clone and flower the sprouts and then keep the most robust and healthy female from the group as a long term mother.
