How Does This CFL Grow Look??

For Veg only, I'm using 6 GE Daylight bulbs rated 6500K and 3050 Lumens each. The bulbs are T12 40W each.

Total Lumens = 18300
Watts = 240W CFL
Room Size = 4 x 4
Plants = 10

Is this enough for 10 plants or should I add a few more "screw-in" type CFL bulbs around the upper-sides???

They have them at Lowes and they are 3000Lumens each for like $10.00 cdn.

Any suggestions or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm just using this for veg only, the girls will go outside all summer and I don't want to spend the cash and have the heat issues...these lights cost me under $90.00.

CFL growers chime in please....................Is this light set up sufficient??????

The room looks amazing but I use around 60% of the lumens / watts you have in my pc case grow.

Yes i think I'll go back to Lowe's and buy 4 of the 3000 Lumen screw-in bulbs and clip them onto the top of the T12 fixture to add another 12,000 lumens. Giving me a total of
30,300 Lumens.

OR

I could put up 2 cardboard walls around the 10 plants and line it with Mylar...therefore shrinking the room from 4 x 4 to 1 x 4. Which would make my current set up of 18300 Lumens enough output for a 4ft sq. space.

Opinions or suggestions please??

The new bulbs will get you in the ballpark.
Keep all the bulbs under the reflector, along with that mylar it will help a lot.
Plants should be within 1 - 2 inches of the bulbs at all times. If the pots don't allow this then move them around as regularly as you can. With a bit of luck you should be ok.

What about shrinking the room though??? I think shrinking the room by 1 or 2 ft would also help....what do ya think??

Shrinking the room would be good. Those pots are bigger than I would use for babies too.

Yes i thought they were too big...I'll take them back and get the smaller size because yes I'm only gonna have them in the room for about a month or so and then I'll introduce them to the outdoors around June 1st when the risk of frost is gone. I'm in Toronto.

Careful with your personal details.

The pots look like maybe 15 litre. 7 should be fine for your needs.
Remember that if they are going outside you will need to dig a hole as big as the pot just to get them in. You were looking at a lot of digging with those pots!

Thanks alot for your help buddy...I'll post new pics once I get the cardboard in place, add another light, and get smaller pots.

The Marijuana Bible says for 2-6 weeks of veg growth stage I should use a 4" 10cm sized pot. So yeah I think the 6.83 litre is still too big for what I'm doing. Like i said before these babies are only gonna be in the closet for about 4-6 weeks then outdoor they go.

My mistake. Pics make them look real big.
You won't harm the plants putting them in those pots but if you could get better light coverage by going down 1 or 2 sizes then that should be fine too.
I make it 12 weeks to June. Do you plan to repot them in 4 - 6 weeks or are they in there for the full duration?

Yes after 4-6 weeks indoors most of them will be transplanted into the ground, but 2 will be transplanted into larger pots. I think I'll start germinating my seeds around middle of April.
