How Does It Look?

This is my first grow ever, under 100W cfl but i am going to add more 150.It is 16-17 days old. Some of the leaves are starting to get yellow possibly from the chemicals of the water even if i leave it for a day to evaporate the chlorine.Next time i will try to boil it for 5'.What is your opinion? does it look good for a start?
Also i dont know what strain it is... can you tell if it is sativa or indica?

Did you check the ph-value of runoff water? Looks like a nutrient def. caused by ph-off

The broad leaves point to an Indica dominant plant. I have never worried about chlorine, and have never had any problems in hydro or soil.

no i dont have anything to check the ph. i surely need to buy something to check ph. So how am i going to fix this?

definitely indica dominant, water is fine, dont need to boil (u will take out minerals the plants use). If u havent started an NPK fertilizer, now is the time to start with only 1/4 dosage, make sure it has zinc as well in it, because ur plant seems to be zinc deficient. overall looks great, full, especially since u r using only a 100w cfl. make sure u r checking ur ph.

Well thanks for all the reponses so far.NPK stands for nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, right?

yes, remember though to get one that also has secondary nutrients, specifically zinc. start with once every 10 days at 1/4 stength.

But that plant is not underfed. That's not the problem, so you can hold the fertilizer untill you have seen some healthy growth. Do you let it dry in between waterings?

yes i water a bit every 2-3 days after checking the soil, and if it is completely dry.i am growing in a closet so the heat is high making the water to evaporate fast. The problem is that i cant find a way to add a fan in there due to the limited space so i am using a fan outside the closet for 3-5 hours to cool it down a bit

i will aply both advices:check the ph of the water and add fertilizer and see how it goes. Thanks i will keep this thread updated with pics

Its getting worse one of the leaves has started to die and the problem seems to spread all over the plant. i have added a small dosage of fertilizer with zync and upgraded the lights to 200W.Also checked the ph and it seems fine 6.5+-0.1.I hope this will stop soon enough, this is my last chance of growing, cause i run out of seeds.:-|

Make a hole in one side for a computer fan - opposite site you make a hole for air to go out (or in) Make sure you don't make a vacuum in there.

oops my bad, probably i found the cause.the ph is around 5.4 i just didnt get it right at first. You were right brimi this is probably caused by the overwater. So how do i fix this now? should i just stop water for a week?

ur plant is looking better, just keep an eye on ur ph, etc. from now on. it looks fine for that age, of course ur not going to be real tall because of ur cfls & that is EXACTLY why they r good, keeps them short & full & u have them very close just like ur suppose to.

Update: day 23:dunce:
i watered them today about 300ml.The plant is looking better.the growth seems to be quite rapid.Ihope this wont be a male.Alright hear's a question: I am on 24/0 light schedule since the start.I think that it will be better if i switch it on 18/6 next week.About how much more is the veg stage going to last? is 1,5 month enough for it and then switch it to 12/12? I am aiming for a fairly good yield but the whole grow cycle MUST end before the 10th of august...:?:

u can veg for as long as ud like, the veg states continues until u flip the lights (except for autoflowering plants) the 18/6 will give ur plants some much needed downtime for sure, imo. ur plant is still quite small, & although I don't see it flowering for a full 9 weeks when that time comes, (it will probably be more like 7 weeks) if it did u would then need to change to 12/12 by the last day of May to assure u would finish by August 10th. So u have almost another 6 weeks u could leave it in veg if my calculations r correct. Its up to u but if it were up to me, I would switch the lights immediately to 18/6, let it go for another 6 weeks (unless growth really escalates) then maybe u could switch in another 3-4 weeks.
