Hi Guys,

I'm wondering what you guys do about making your own teas and nutes for use all year round?

Is it just a case of using whats available from a seasonal point of view, and buying any other stuff you need, or are there some preservation methods?

Here it's pretty damn cold in winter and there's very few plants that aren't conifers.

Thanks for your advice.

I make a soil mix with a lot of amendments that a plant could live their whole life off with just water. But my soil mix has low potassium so I add banana peels to my soil and make banana tea/water once I go Into week 2 of flower. Banana peal water, alfalfa meal, compost, molasses..that’s a bomb tea mix.

I also add lots of calcium including eggs shells once a month..sometimes if the plant gets yellow or lime green I’ll hit em with a nitrogen boost. For low Nitrogen I would add like a teaspoon of compost, alfalfa, kelp, and fish emulsion, and molasses to a gallon of water and let it sit for a day all mixed up..

I use DOWN TO EARTH organic amendments

Grow lots of comfrey in the summer months cut and dry it for winter. Lots of other plants can be grown for amendments and teas like aloe, shave grass, stinging nettle, alfalfa. Tea's generally need to be made fresh so they don't go anaerobic so not something you can preserve and bottle up for winter months, but it can be done indoors or in a basement if it is too cold outside.

I like to give my girls teas at least once a month in veg made up of 2 cups my ewc, 1 cup my compost, 1 cup alfalfa meal and 2 tbsp bsm bubbled for 36 hours.

In flower I like to topdress at 2 and 4 weeks with about a 1” layer of fresh ewc and some fresh chopped up comfrey. The girls love it!!

I use Gaia Green products when making up my soils!!

- Another great balanced source of NPK, large amounts of Calcium and other minerals and vitamin C, used in Bio-Dynamic farming to give intelligence to the soil.

Thanks for all the ideas so far guys, I really like the idea of drying and storing for the winter! Need to find a agriculture supplier to make some kind of super soil. Unless there's some recommended European shops online?

Not to my knowledge, it’s DIY as far as I know.

U growing biodynamic? I’ve only done organic so far; first biodynamic grow, so watch this space....

So far I've just used standard canna nutes, but I just cant help feeling going completely natural is better so I'm just getting ready for the next grow, it takes time to get stuff where I am!

The current grow should be done in another 4 weeks.

I've love to go fully biodynamic with outdoor stuff, just need to find a house to buy first!
