how do you smoke your meds when you have bad lungs

Joints all the way for the wife and I ... I am close to 40 now but my lungs must be 80 .. I rarely smoke anything but joints now due to Tobacco use .. The more potent the smoke the less time spent in the lungs .. I dont like to hold onto smoke for long and using the most potent pot possible helps to eliminate that issue lol

Have you tried a Vaporizer ? This may relieve your lungs a bit too .. I am saving up for a Volcano for the wife , she has Asthma and smoking is even harder on her ..

Last but least , Hash and other concentrates if your lungs can tolerate . Its cleaner and you need much less ..

I am an ex cigerette smoker and I smoke alot more herb than neccasary because of the physical smoking adddiction. I love to smoke but hate the negative effects. I don't know if ur growing ur own meds or not but I would suggest 100% organically grown herb, a slow dry and a long proper cure, and I would also research and test "smoother smoking strains". Good luck brother.

Oh, switching between strains every other day or so will keep your buzz fresh, and help you smoking less.

To be honest, the "smoke" from my digi volcano is a little bit harsher than the smoke out of just a normal pipe.

They even specifically tell you in the volcano instruction manual to only breath in half what you normally would, again, because it's harsher than smoking out of just a normal pipe.

When I breath in a fulllllll hit from the volcano bag, I will cough harder than I do when I take a fully loaded rip from a three foot bong.

Ahh, and the smoothest smoking utensil I've ever smoked out of is a triple/quadruple percolating bong.

The multiple water/percolation levels remove the "harshness" from the smoke very, very well.

Get freezing cold water and possibly even ice (if it has an ice catch) and it's even better at removing that "harshness".

It does remove a lot of the taste (so do vaporizers like the volcano though, so meh), the consequence of it greatly reducing the "harshness".

An old hippy I used to know had a little double bubble bong with an ash catcher. He kept it super clean and only loaded enough for half a hit or so at a time. He let other people do real bong rips but he never choked. Also I'm a big fan of my Arizer solo vaporizer.

I've owned all the big vaporizers: volcanoe, pax, plenty, ssx, vapebrothers, vapexhale cloud, the list goes on. out of all the vapes I own, my favorite hands down is the plenty vaporizer mated to a water tool. It's the smoothest I've ever had and it get's you pretty medicated quickly. Only downside is it takes the Plenty about 5 minutes to warm up but once it's going it get get 4-5 heads medicated no problem. Another issue is the chamber requires a minimum of 2g of plant material to work correctly. As a grower I use trim to vape and save buds for my patients and it's still extremely smooth. A vape pays for itself if you use trim to vape. here's a pic of the setup:

I've got horrible lungs from a lifetime of not wearing a respirator when I should have (dozens of shellac applications, gypsum dust from sheet rock, asbestos, ect) and using this vape I get absolutely no burning, just a clean, moist vapor that's a delight to inhale. If you are serious about getting smooth non harsh smoke, you owe it to yourself to try it.

Smoke high potency hash oil. You will only need one hit. If it's made right it's not harsh if you don't take a huge rip.

Have you tried edibles?

One other thing you can do is try water curing your buds. I would try a small amount first, and see how you like it if you decide to give it a go. Simply put, you completely submerge your buds in a bucket of room temp (or slightly colder) water, changing the water each day, for about 5 days total. I use a 5 gallon bucket. The idea behind it is that any water soluble stuff in the plant (salts, etc) will leach out of the plant, and only fat soluble (THC, CBD, etc) will remain. It makes for a VERY smooth smoke, but it does alter the taste of the end product ..... which is why I suggest you try a small amount first and see how you like it.

I typically do this with my trim/lowers that I am using to make my bubble hash. I *try* to remove everything but the canabinoids so I end up with as pure of an extraction as possible. When I'm done with the water cure, I put a fan on the buds, and a dehumidifier close by as I do not want wet buds laying around for long (mold).

This is just my opinion, on water cure. If you got weed that has harsh unflushed over nuted chemical buds, water cure is really good, as it takes all the bad stuff out.

As for well grown Organic buds, water cure is only going to take your flaver and smell away from your weed.

I seen the OP said he is growing organicly.

no doubt that water will remove small particle contaminants and enhance medicinal (n prolly flavor some), but mess w the essence in a neg. way...? You're not washing the tric's away.. I'd have to try and see to really know about the possibility of water-wash-cure really affecting flavor undesirably.

I don't completely disagree with you. It certainly does alter the smell and taste, but the main difference is in the smoke. It is probably the smoothest, least harsh smoke I've tried (even with organically grown meds). I personally wouldn't do it with my flowers that I smoke ..... but my lungs are just fine, and I don't mind a little bite to my smoke.

Aside from that, I agree with your assessment.

It does change the flavor, abe. No question. You also lose some weight if you're concerned with that ..... but the weight lost is all of the stuff that you really don't want/need anyway. It keeps all of the goodies intact.

I'll agree, I water cured some og next to regular cure og just to see myself, I think I kept it underwater for 2 weeks total, everything youmsaid is true, I lost weight, a lot actually, the smell and taste were certaintly not what I wanted but the smoke was so clean. It burned extremely nice especially in a doobie with a little hash.

I have very bad lungs and cough bad when i smoke.but i love to smoke my meds.
Here is something I’m going to try when I get to MI and am able to play with some of the ideas that are out there , out west Graywoof’s group are trying this and they say Quote --- (The process cools and further smoothes prime bud, makes an unbelievably smooth smoke out of even iron lung grade leaf trim and makes even harsh fan leaves smokable, though sedative and not tasty.) --- I want to take it a step further and add RSO to it , what the 12,000 PSI has to do with it I don’t know but when I try it and if it works I’ll get some to you , premo bud and oil compressed together sure sounds like a good idea . I have been smoking tobacco for 60 years , started with corn silk when I was about 10 years old , I have tried several E-Cigs and there OK but its not the same .
