share your amount of fine ground ganja with amount of butter and amount of time cooked. I need help with proper technique cuz i dont think a stick of butter and a nug in the microwave cuts it anymore... bongsmilie

WTF

umm get an ounce, a stick of butter (a whole cube tub or wghatever) , a pot, some boiling water and about 20 minutes to half an hour on the stovetop.

a few hours in the freezer and then 20 seconds to break the butter from the frozen water, though you dont have to wait for the water to freeze in some cases.

otherwise check the link in my sig

peace out

i use honey oil thouroghly melted into butter. you dont need to use water and absolutely no plant matter in the butter. plus you can more accuratly measure how fucked up the butter will get you. i use BHO in all my edibles, not just the ones that use butter.

so you make the oil first then put the oil into the butter?
yes, butane honey oil. not canna-cooking oil. if i were to make canna cooking oil i would use BHO instead of weed as well. i also melt it into heavy cream to make ganja ice cream - https://www.rollitup.org/cooking-cannabis/239967-slikwill13s-ganja-ice-cream-hour.html

using BHO instead of weed makes your cooking time shorter because you dont need to 'steep' the resin out of the weed, you just need to melt the BHO into it thorougly. and you also dont need to strain weed out of the butter, creating butter thats not green with weed still in it and it doesnt waste any butter(you never squeeze ALL of it out of the weed).

-Ingredients-

1/8 to 1 ounce herb
-Directions-
Grind herb in a coffee grinder or or blender for one minute
Melt butter, add herb cook on med-low for 10-15 minutes (be really careful not to over cook!!)

i forgot to mention straining it.
let it cool a bit first and use some cheesecloth,a sock (those real thin ones), a stocking or even a stocking in a stocking, anything you think will catch the plat matter will suffice

sorry about that folks lol

looking good dgk, now im interested in this butane honey oil. wouldnt consuming butane be horribly bad for you plus taste terrible? the stuff stinks to high heaven
yes and no, ill admit some butane brands are cleaner than others and leave less crap behind after evaporation, but i havent died yet lol.

whats more is after the butane has fully evaporated the oil will still set on fire its supposed to do that, all good resin extracts will really

again
peace out

the isopropyl alcohol extraction method is good too. i find you get more out of it, just use methanol though its actually one of the cleanest solvents out there appart from pure alcohol ie ethyl ethenol.

you can also make your oil more managable and give it a hash like texture by powdering up some dry bud or kief and rubbing it through the oil. though sometimes this can take a bit of rubbing through. (it should all go the colour of the oil unles you use too much plant matter which will just end up getting to hard to rub anymore in and have flecks left behind.
NOTE (i mainly do this with honey oil)

I use food-grade bubble hash at a rate of about an ounce of hashish to one pound (four sticks) of butter. It dissolves readily and no straining is required. Just a saucepan on VERY low heat and constant stirring for about ten to fifteen minutes. Two pounds of melted butter will fill a quart mason jar.

i don't make cannabutter, but I do make the oil, for when I do the brownies or cakes, the .88 cent betty crocker ones, i made sum yesterday :):)......

drop about 1/8th or 1/4 of bud (if it's good bud you dn't need too much, the slow simmer will extract as much THC and cannabinoids from the bud as smoking it) nice and broken down in a grinder into a saucepan, with 1/3 r 1/4 of oil and simmer on low for 3-4 hours stirring every 10 - 15 mins... it's gotta be on low... it can "fry" but i prefer it's just a tad cooler....

now you can strain it, using a wire strainer like this one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11926774

i personally leave the plant matter in there, if it's real broken down, with no stems, after 4 hours in the oil the plant matter will be so crispy that I can't even tell it's in the brownies when eating them... i then make the brownies according to the recepie on the box.... i make brownies all the time, it's awesome, and simmering the buds in oil for a couple of hours is the way to do it, i've done it since the first time i made brownies about 5 years ago, and still use the same method and still get high as fuck every time.....

enjoy!!!
