Ive been trying to find the best way to cure my bud. right now it smells like hay and the taste of the smoke is bad.

i have dried the bud for about 4-5 days and then put them in paper bags for 3-4 days. Then now i have been curing for about a week and the bud still has no smell or flavor.

Please help!:confused::neutral:

Put your buds in a mason jar with a sealable lid, open the jars up a few times a day to exchange the air for the first week or two, then open them maybe once a week after that if they are good and dry. Some strains taste good after a week hanging, but I've grown a few that tasted like shit until they spent a month or two sealed in the jar. Like a fine wine the longer they sit in the jar the better they will taste.

Make sure you belch the jars or you will get mold.
True story, i didn't let some hash breath once for about a week, when i finally went to smoke it it was penicillin country. very sad for all involved. you are better of over-venting and having the cure take longer than keeping it sealed up too wet and ruining a harvest with mold.

Would love to see if this works out.......The last 2 things I dried (half assed grown bagseed)....turned to hay. Im growing good genetics and I am paranoid about it happening again.

I really notice the smoothness as my bud cures...and I am beginning to think it improves in potency a bit too. Having friends who smoke so much, they never get to cure their harvest, they really like me coming to visit cause my weed tastes so good.......I cure in mason jars mostly but have begun to use some starbuck frappucino jars that work great too. Since I only vape, I like my buds totally dried before I jar'em and even then, notice the bud sweats a bit at first.....I rather think it's according to strain whether the smell comes back while curing....I just know everything else improves with age-ing.....

I do things completely differently and have for a decade or so... I've never had a harsh or chemical taste. I wet trim it and hang it in the dark in a cool/cold room to convert the starches to sugars and dissipate the sugars as well as the chlorophyl. Then after 48-hours, I dry them quickly in a warm room with a dehumidifier and they are done within a few days. I got the tip from a pot geek that from Oakland some years ago. I know it works for me, but YMMV. Good luck.
