How do people already have big plants with fat buds in april

I dont get it im seeing all these northern california grows near me and they already got fat plants and fat buds...like my neighbors have a make shift greenhouse and they have fat plants with buds already in april..how is this possible can someone explain..do they get two outdoor seasons like this..i never start till around mothers day..what am i missing?????

Some do a Spring crop, like I did this year {in NW Florida}. Others do light dep. Some folks just like hard work so much, they do it in the off season.

If the plants are pretty big, they vegged with lights for a month or more before putting them outside. You put them out in the winter and they will flower because of the long nights. But it's getting about too late in the year to do that. I pulled my Spring Crop a couple weeks ago. When the days get longer in the Spring, you have to do light dep {black out your greenhouse for a couple three hours per day to make the plants think it's still winter} to keep the plants from re-vegging.

Work, work, work.
