How do my girls look? Week 2 or 3 of 12/12

Hey guys. I recently moved from Grasscity because seemed like a really inactive board. Hopefully I can get some insight here. I have a stealth closet grow. 2 females. 1 Indica, 1 Sativa. There is no bud smell, more of a plant type smell to them. When i touch the stems, i get kind of a reggie smell to it. Does that mean my bud is going to be garbage? This is my first grow.

Welcome to Troll it up!...at least it is compared wit the nazis mods in GC

I think some of ur plants may have some un-needed stretch ?

the sativa will need another 2-3 weeks to finish

about now issues ..if any ..will show

good luck

Other than stretchy like @vostok mentioned they don't look bad at all. Only reason I clicked on this thread and now I'll make the point since it's your first grow: Is it 2 weeks or 3 weeks into 12/12? If you can't answer that, it's a good example as to why you should keep a grow log. The more you log, the more you'll realize that you can't rely on memory throughout the lifecycle of the plants, particularly if you end up doing multiple grows/perpetual. If you can't reference what you did in the past, you can't improve your future grows. Log it, or it never happened.

thank you so much! both of you. Yeah, as far as the stretch, would i lower the lights to prevent that? Sativa plants take a few weeks longer to flower? That would make a lot of sense. I've been wondering why it doesn't seem to be flowering as well as the Indica. I will start a grow log, as you're absolutely right. GREAT suggestion. Will definitely help me in future grows.

Do you guys think it's just a little early in flower to smell strong? The stems smell kinda like reggie when i rub my fingers on them. You can't really estimate potency based on smell though, right?

Those things are tall and stretchy - you're going to need to use stakes or something for support.

You often don't get the final smell until it dries and cures, but once you have mature trichomes on the plant, rubbing some off will give you a smell

Okay, thank you! My pots aren't very big. Probably not big enough to put a stake in the soil with the plant. Maybe tape a stake to the side of the pot?

Whatever works - once they put on weight they'll get top heavy and want to flop over

Awesome! Thanks guys. i'll get those things tied up and post an update in a week or so. At this point should i be using any nutes? I haven't used many nutes throughout the grow, because i am inexperienced and didn't want to mess things up. I have a 9-9-6 bloom nute but needs to be mixed in with the soil. Bad idea to move the plant at this point, huh?

Basically, my question at this point is: What would you guys do at this point to improve this plant. Staking them up, check.

ok cool, i'll check out the nutes. it's not too late to start using a flowering nute? i'm using 5 CFLs 1600 Lumens each. Not ideal, but it's stealth and inexpensive

Go check my blog and compare the 12 week thing to yours..

ensure your next grow is either indca or sativa strains ..avoid doing both at once

I like to put my indicas in a 3 us gallon pot for a 1month veg and 2 month flower

the sativas take longer in flower, so its good to put them in a 5 us gallon pot for that same 1 month veg and 2.5 month flower

cheers

If you can afford it on your next run get a 600w hps setup. Air cooled hood, fan the works. It will be a night and day difference in the outcome. You wont regret the investment.

I would absolutely LOVE to run an HPS setup. What's cool about this grow is I literally spent nothing on it. Found everything around the house. Even the seeds were found in my desk. hahaha.

Question: How does the electricity bill look for HPS setups vs CFL setups. The CFLS ive got now, combined, equal about $10 extra a month.
