How Do I Wire This?

just wondering if someone can tell me how to wire this. I plan on using a socket with the cord attached to it and cutting the cord. Anyone know what to do?

Well, unless you got 220 which I doubt, theres jist a power, a neutral, and a ground. Black is almost universally power, im guessing the blue is neutral or in color terms white. Wires would likely clamp into the wholes o. That connector....

man i should have looked at it longer. i just looked in the other side of thoe connectors and there is a hole with a screw in it for the wires and one has an N im guessing for neutral and another an L which i have no idea, but i'm guessing the ground is gonna go on the little metal pronge thing

Line is L, meaning hot. So yeah you got it right. should work just fine for you like that.

yep seems to work fine, altho i only did turn it on for a second because its lights out. i mean the light wasn't in the box when i turned it on but it was close enough i didnt want to let the bulb get to full brightness and light up the room the box is in. But it works thats what counts.

That's usually caused by a short due to faulty wiring or damage to the wire.

yeah, just improper wiring or some other short, like if the mogul (lamp base) had a loose wire or something. Fires are rare in the hood, but not unheard of.

well, things have been running now for 2 days and no problems so im thinkin i did something right

I would just make sure you triple cover the exposed wires to make sure that no sparks jump in case of static build up or surges, shit happens, take the extra precautions
