How do I keep my OS5 Airstone at the bottom of my 5gal bucket?

The title says it all... I just got an OS5 air stone (or is it air rubber? lol) and I cant seem to keep it at the bottom of my 5gal bucket! It has suction cups, but they keep failing

I am hoping to find something to weigh it down that would not affect nutrient solution, but after searching the house nothing is jumping out at me, saying "Use me!"

Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Hot glue is ok to use or glass marbles.

get fishing line and some fishing weight tie them to the air stone.

Screw that.. get some 2" cylinder air stones. They are heavy and give you all the air you need never an issue staying down or where you want them.

ActiviveAqua - around two bucks.

Suction cups. Buy em at pet store in the fish section.

Go to the fish store and get some airstone/decoration weights. They are little flexible strips made of lead (I think).

A rock. .

I only use these air stones now. Only place you can find them is online or at a grow store.

Metal will f@#$ with your ph don't do this

I use ziptie mounting blocks that you can get from lowes or homedepot in the datacom/low voltage electrical areas, They are right by the zipties... just make sure the surface is dry, and clean from dust and oil. I usually just wipe the surface off with rubbing alcohol..

Thats how you do it! DWC with mass bubbles = huge plant.

Beaver thats a nice looking tub. Void I've not had stainless washers affect my ph, but i respect ya enough to think you may know better than I.

Whatever works for you

Honestly I can't find anything to link about it, so I can't tell you if it's a specific type of metal or what, but I know at least some metals will throw off your PH.

you do not want metal that can oxidize in your reservoir, because it will rust due to the corrosive and acidic nature of the nute solution...

100% silicone. You can use it while in the h2o. The put a weight of some kind to hold it in place for about 1/2 hr.

The silicone only cost a $ at the dollar store and as long as you don't get it on roots you're ok. I did mine w/hydro in it and my babies are fine. It don't hurt the nuke either. I have a 4'x8'x8" bed with a pond liner I bought new. I use a 400watt light on a lightrail. My babies are in 3" netpots with b-cuzz cubes floatin in a 2" styrofoam tray and an drip sys attached. This particular bed will hold 48 babies start to finish and they don't miss a beat growin. I don't get here much but I do like to stop by and read what other experts in their field have to ssay. If you'll read a lot from the experienced you'll learn to gro killer budz. And also along the way in your venture you can get creativei n building a fine masterpiece. You don't have to spent a whole lot of $$s if your creative enough.

Marine Silicon at any auto parts store is what I use.. but I also use the 2" cylinder stones that are heavy and don't need weighting.
