How do i go about growing an apple tree?

name says it all :) i was eating an apple last night and got the seeds out of the middle, i let em dry over night and i really wanna grow an apple tree. just to see how it turns out. any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy Growin!!

im 45 years old i wouldn't get to see it grow over knee high , go to the nursery and get one thats 1/2 grown and plant it

Really? how long does it take go grow that high? years? wow well it would be nice to give it to someone like my kid (dont have any rite now tho thank Jebus)

ya i really want to, think it would be interesting, im only 21 rite now so about the time im 60 or so it should be a good size. really think it would germ just like a mj seed?

are you sure robert? i thought you could get fruit from a seedling in 12-20yrs.

i have a seedling from a granny smith apple that i germed early spring. its about 10" tall in a pot outside.

The simple answer is yes, but.......
The 'yes' is because you can plant an apple tree seed and there is probably a 30% chance of it germinating and growing to full size. That means if you plant 10 apple seeds you are likely to get around 3 which grow. You can select the healthiest of the three and let it grow to full size.
The 'but...' is that you will have to wait for 6 to years to find out if it will produce edible apples - the chance of it producing an edible apple is about 5%. The chance of it being even remotely a tasty edible apple is very, very small. It certainly will not resemble the apple from which the pip came. This is because modern apple trees are a cross between two or more varieties. Further, you will not know which apple tree pollinated the one you have.​

mk, well then ill just have to get a bunch of apple seeds ;) no matter to me, it seems like a fun project. what kinda light cycles do they usually perfer?

Also you need to make sure you're in a zone that can grow apples. They need some cold to flourish. I've always wanted to grow some but it's way too warm.

well its not SUPER hot outside, more like mild 90s sometimes upper 100s, but id be growing this inside for a while or just do it outside whenever winter starts to come around, and bring it in and do it in my house, the temps in winter can really range and get in the negatives but its usually just FREEZING.

well they grow apples in eastern wa and it gets hotter than hades over there on the dry side. So it could grow with the right tlc I bet

Apples take several years, go buy a juvenile one as mentioned.

If you grow these seeds you can resell em in a few years for big dollars. Got some hippie buddies we used to buy weed from also used to sell all kinds of plants and trees, bonsai trees, all kinds of shit, organic teas and homemade nute mixes. The trees were going for $200+ a piece and he had at least 20 of those beasts. He probably made a killing with those trees.
