Dish of coffee or red wine will help. I think I even used beer once. Or go buy Fox Farm's Spray called Don't Bug Me. Works like a charm, just not when your lights are on.

Fruit flies or fungus gnats? Fungus gnats are an easy fix, let your soil dry out and put a layer of white sand over your soil before watering. That keeps them from laying eggs. Hang up some flypaper to reduce their numbers and they should be gone in a week.

protip: after the flies are gone hang a clean strip of flypaper to serve as an early warning system, check it whenever you tend to your plants.

i bought this apple thing at walmart that attracts them in and they die. It looks like a peach or something red with a hint of yellow. And it kills them all its like $2 and works

chances are they are fungus gnats, not fruit flies.. especially if they "came outta nowhere".. xcon has some great advice..

i got some too man I think they are fungus gnats. I have seen them since I first started growing about 5 weeks ago, but only like 1 bug per week. and it is weird that I spot them because there is no infestation, just one random loner bug by himself and i see him moving and spray his ass with water to stun him and then kill him. It has seriously happened like once a week, but I have not been infested YET. no damage to my plant at all and I seen a couple of them in the house in the kitchen and shit so i think its just luck that they find their way into my room.
