how defeating! just found seeds on my first crop. keep the seeds?

I was extremely excited to see all my feminized plants were female. Just this morning I found seeds growing so there must be a hermie somewhere. For the life of me I couldn't find the nuts, but I'll keep looking. I feel betrayed! Ha ha

Will feminized plants that were breed with a hermie be worth keeping the seeds? If I find the nut sack, is it worth removing or its it basically too late?

Do they look like these because female plants will grow these regardless but if there is no pollen then a seed wont actually get produced.

well, yea, it's too late. You have seeds. Hunting gonads can be a fool's errand anyway, you never find them all. Once the male flowers open up and release their pollen, it's too late. And it's not like they keep pumping out pollen, once they open, they are done.

Anyway, live and learn. Finish the crop, and smoke that old style shit. I wouldn't mess with those seeds unless you have lots and lots of patience. Better to go with a different strain that won't cause you this agitation.

I agree. Hermie seeds will most likely be hermie. True fem seeds are done using a delicate process involving colloidile( however you spell it) silver. Nearly 100% fems w/o hemies. Any other process will have a much higher hermie percent.

i just grew out the most beautiful hermie plant, Lady Gaga. no shit some of the best smoke ever and i had a ton of seeds for outdoor this spring. but then again i had a lot of space to keep it seperate from the girls

I pray for hermies, saves $$ on bean purchasing.

i like hermies just fine

keep the conditions good and the plant hermies at most 1-5% (about 1 seed per bud)

or not at all.

a friend grew out the same strain im growing, his hermies so totally he could start selling seeds if any would want, but in my hands i get 1 seed per bud (decidedly yummy and potent buds sheer candy) (1 seed per 1-3g bud)

It's unfortunately unmistakable. I was hoping it was just fat calyxs, but they now have seeds breaking the surface. I popped one out and it was absolutely a seed!!!! ahhh!!!!

Live and learn for sure! Being a newb I know I put these ladies under stress for their first few months. Only problem with my situation (and why I REALLY wanted to figure out which one it was) is that I have 5 different strains going. I also have clones of each so it'd be nice to know which strain to can.

My plants are GORGEOUS! Sucks they have seeds!

Space is limited in my world. Veg room is 2.5X4 and flower is 6X4. Both rooms are only about 5 feet tall.

For the two who like hermies....

Do the seeds resort back to "traditional" where you have to pull males? I was really hoping to avoid that since space is limited.

Sounds like a couple others were alluding to that, or that they have a tendency to cause hermies.

Wholly crap! A light bulb went off today. My buddy made a comment about my neighborhood beeing famous for being an old hippy location. I would bet money more people are growing a stash all around my neighborhood.

I noticed my ladies are putting on seeds all around the 2 sides that are accesible were my clothing usually rubs. I see very few seeds towards the interior of the group and almost none on the plant I don't come in contact with. I also searched my ass off for signs of males and found nothing. I would put money on me picking up some pollen some where outside and bringing it inside.

This sucks because when I read about people changing clothes before they went into their garden I thought they were crazy. They don't seem so crazy now!
