P philifred Active Member May 21, 2011 #1 i just succesfully germed my 1st seed and put it about 1 inch deep in the soil and got it nice and wet and when i pulled out the pen i used to make the hole the dirt stuck to it does that mean its to wet and is 1 inch too deep??

Oldreefer Well-Known Member May 21, 2011 #2 1/4- 3/8 inch is best..prob won't come up if an inch deep..soil that drains well is much needed...never wet...only moist....
