I have a computer case fan and a 4 inch hole in the wall and the hole goes to a towel room (which you see the white dryer vent) i was wondering whats the best way to put the fan and how to power it without a CPU POWER SUPPLY :cuss:could i use a ground wire?

get a cell phone charger, cut and splice the wires to the pc fan, you're good to go. the power ratings should be written on the fan, find a charger that has the same ratings...thats what i did, worked great. there is info all over for powering pc fans with cell phone chargers.

forget the cellphone charger, thats only 5v. try to find an old electronic charger that has a rating of 9v+, or else the fan wont perform as well.

connect the colors that match and forget the one that dosent.
stick the wires from that cell phone charger in your mouth and see why the fan dosent spin very fast

Use the red and black. Forget the white.

Also whats the voltage rating on the power supply you have? 12v would be best since it is a 12v fan. please advise.
