How cold can a plant get?

I'm planning on growing weed in my garage pretty soon, it's about the same temp in there as it is outside and where I live it occasionaly gets to as low as 35 degrees f, it's usually around 50 though. Will these conditions be ok for growing some danks? I'm planning on growing northern lights using coco coir, this will also be my first grow so I'm probubly going to fuck up. all the information I've gotten so far has been from growweedeasy.com so if you have a better idea I'm open for suggestion.
Thanks!

It's good to be humble going into your first grow, but it's also good to do research before your first grow. If you've been haunting growweedeasy then you already know those temps are not even close to optimal for growing cannabis. My recommendation is to get your space all set up, fire up your lights and see where you are. If you can't keep it above 72 or so with lights on and 62 or so with lights off then you need a heater. I'm pretty sure you already know this if you've been browsing forums so I'm not sure what you're looking for... someone to tell you that doing it wrong is ok?

I've had indica's have snow on them at night and survive, NL Is about as pure indica as it gets, once or twice at the end of flowering isnt going to kill them , but 35 every night or even once a week is going to stunt the shit out of them at the very least

I'm planning on using one LED light (https://www.amazon.com/VIPARSPECTRA-Reflector-Spectrum-Indoor-Plants/dp/B01B4GQ6MO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1485731853&sr=8-3&keywords=led+grow+light) and im growing in a wooden entertainment system i'm gonna rig up, cut, and add wood to it so the plant is covered, is that close enough to sealed? How cold can it get before I need a heater? also, do I need to get special wrap to line the interior with or can I just use tin foil? sorry for the tremendous about of questions but I'm trying to get as much information as I can before I start so I don't fuck up as much.

I meant it gets 55 at night, and 35 is very occasionaly. lately it's been high 70s during the day and I can only imagine it's only gonna get hotter as winter has almost passed. I read that it can withstand low temperatures like this at night but I thought i'd make sure. Also, I'm in the US and you all seem experienced, do you recommend a place to buy my seeds? I can probably grow 5 or 6 and it'd be nice to be able to have 2 different strains if possible, I was thinking gorilla glue because I heard it's a easy-ish strain. also, because this is in a garage it's sealed off with little ventilation, if I had a intake and exhaust fan going to the one vent I have would that eliminate some odors? I'm also going to be spraying the garage with a shit ton of ozium, and I know that no matter what it's gonna smell even if I get a carbon scrubber but I don't want it to be obvious to neighbors or visitors. Thanks again

Northern Lights is a good strain to start on. Very resilient and quality smoke. That being said, if you're going to sink money and time into a grow you should do your best to provide a good environment for your plants. Do a little more research on optimal temps and humidity levels for growing cannabis and then figure out what you need to do to maintain those. I'd recommend a heater with a thermostat and something to control humidity (humidifier if it's too dry or a dehumidifier if it's too wet) because if you don't control those two variables you will be back in a month asking us what is wrong with your plants....

Build ur cabinet and run ur lights. Find out what running temps are and the Off temps are. Go from there.

Just paint the inside of the cabinet flat white.

Would I be better getting different lights? I don't really want to invest in a heater so if I got CFL lights instead of LEDs do you think it would get hot enough to not get a heater? i'm going to have enough money to put into all the equipment in two weeks, I don't want to waste anything do you guy suggest a certain light that runs a bit hot? thanks again, I won't ask any more questions until I get my equipment. PS this site is better then grass city
