How close to the ceiling?

I am almost ready to try a few led lights. I thought they run cool and I could put them closer to the ceiling to gain some head room. I see HLG says to hang it at least 12 in below ceiling. That puts me down around the same heght as an HID hood. So,.......led lights get hot enough to burn a ceiling or start a fire?

I use a 650 watt Meanwell driver and that fucker gets pretty hot. IDK about HLG lights , but my light almost has to have a clip fan blowing directly on the driver. I don't think it gets hot enough to start a fire or burn anything but without that fan the whole space gets hot. And keeping it cool helps the light last longer. I blow fresh air on the driver and exhaust the hot air off the top of the heat sinks. So I need some space between the light and the ceiling. I would never get closer than 6-8 inches from the ceiling. Just to be safe.
