I think the stems need at least 2 or 3 node spaces before you can take a clone. Depending on your method you might want to do later or earlier. For rockwool/cube cloning I like having a much thicker stem as it helps keep them sturdy when you're putting them in cubes. If you're doing aero/bubble cloner I think you could get away with an earlier time and thinner stem.

Dude,
A month into vegging you should be ready to flower... Your plant (generally speaking) should be 10"-17" with 8-10 nodes. Flimsy green stems after a month sounds like your doing something wrong.

Do you have:
Proper lighting? What are you using?
Large enough containers? 3 gallon is perfect.
Gentle fan blowing? It stregnthens the stems.
Are you over-watering? This causes a multitude of problems.

When you clone you want a branch that is still green, about 3-6" long. Cut off all the fan leafs except the top two (those you cut in half). Cut the stem at a 45 degree angle so the clone is about 2 1/2" long, put in rooting compound, then in green house.... Its really not all that hard. I've had 100% success so far!

Good Luck! :peace:
