How can I grow denser buds??

CFL's are fantastic for small gardens. I can get just as dense of buds (I didn't say 'size') under CFRL as I can under my HID. IF Dense buds were the goal.. they are not.. unfortunately they still end up a bit more than I would like them to be with my 'space' and venting
100% agree, only because ive fucked with it myself.
to be honest the buds of these plants i had under cfls as trial run were more dense then allot of buds i had. but they were all SOOOOO TINY! and i wont 12/12 cfls ever agin for that reason. 4 plants and all of them were on the same schedule as my hid set. all 4 prudced about the same yield and all the buds were similar.
the 4 under my 400w trial prudced heavier yields and ALLOT BIGGER BUDS! but not as rockhard as the mini cfl nugs.

Disagree...p / k. Is huge...not enough n you get airy buds.
P/K!

Bump it up! Check your pheno types in veg. Bad phenos show bad 12/12 results most the time
a nutrient additive i use that i swear by rocks out my nugs.
huge difference from when i started using it i hardly have popcorn anymore.

You must have never grown a 100% sativa
How is this relevant? indica? sativa? Its not the strain type itself were trying to harden. its the buds that the strain type itself produces.
IMO:You have must have never played with your nutrients..

There are plenty of really airy Sativa strains, regardless of your setup or even grown outside.

if the genetics of that specific sativa are shit in density, then id understand. i run a constant 10-15 strains at a time and have been from the start. i take the time to pick the right phenos and ive never really had a problem with density.
other than when i began growing with other peoples clones. and thats exactly why i stopped.
you hardly find anyone with the time or expense to play with the strain and plant multiple seeds, label them & watch them for correct phenos.
most these people have no idea what they are talking about considering they plant one seed and clone it out thinking its great. And hey they mightve gotten lucky and gotten a strong single seed.
but 7/10 times the seed is bunk in pehons.
hence the reson for planting multiple and watching them all at once.
and i hope this helps you understand, where im coming from.
if you havent tried this process, YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT IT!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned anything about the color spectrum of the lights used by the op. For flower you want something around 2700k, especially if he is using cfls. HIDs will get you larger buds, but flowering with cfls that are in the correct color spectrum will produce buds as hard as what you can grow with any other light.

Picture 101.jpgPicture 038.jpgPicture 012.jpgIMG_0007.jpgIMG_0001_1.jpgGenetics will dictate alot when you are talking bud structure. Some like mekong are stringy fluffy buds, with the proper use of composted soils and nutrients you can tighten and harden your yeild. By increasing your pk during the last couple pf weeks of bloom you can achieve this, however it can be tricky. experiment with a single plant of the strains you are trying to improve, remember diffrent strains react to nutrient programs in difrent ways. Some you will find will tolarate higher amounts of these macro nutrients.
I increase my plants ability to tolerate these nutrients at a higher rate by "Dosing" them with a regiment of a premixed solution. I use a bulk Amino acid in conjuction with thrive alive b1, and molasass tea derived of sea kelp and black strap, and sea bird droppings. I mix it with reg bloom solution and give it to them at every feeding. These just came out of a 24 light out at onset of bloom this morning. They recieved the solution the morning before I shut the lights out on them. They basted off with new flower arrangements over night. These nine plants where fimed and re-fimed they are now at 4 foot branches and tops are thick and plush these tops will be somewhere in the ounce per bracket. These plants will produce 4 to 6 ounces each!@!bloom pics.jpgbloom pics 2.jpgveg pics.jpg
P.S. Lighting is very important! cfl's will never produce these buds, This required a pair of 1000 watt eye hortilux with enhanced blue hps in both fixtures, I have a WELL ventalated area, with plenty of fresh air coming in all the time. I use a c02 gen in 1 room and co2 bottle on a sensor. My rooms stay at about 15oo ppm 100% of the time. All these things help with yeilds and tightness. When you put them all together you get "MAGIC". "Melungeon magic" that is!! Happy growing!!The melungeonman.

my lemon kush is 4 weeks old in veg looking great 7 nodes high top it today to promote side growth my plant is under a 300watt 9u giant cfl working great my medium is coco with the coco nuntes my temps hit around 77f and the humidty 45% to 50%...the qustion is to wait another week or so to flip 12/12 or wait longer......plz comment thank you i will post some pic when lights go back on.........

1. 65 is too cold. You are begging for powdery mildew and stunted plant growth.
2. HID lights make denser nugs. It is not rocket science.

its a little more complicated than rocket science, its botany.

Better phenos make denser buds compared to shitty phenos.

hid lights make bigger buds compared to cfls (if you havent tested the same strain under different lights then, just stop....)

and propper care which noone but melung can seem to mention
if you dont care for your plants properly and efficiently a good yield is nowhere in sight.

I've been growing outdoors for years and I'm still not 100% sure. Each year I grow a few different strains and sometimes a strain just doesn't look as good as the others. In my case I think climate and genetics play the biggest role. Indoors I might blame lighting, but I can't use that excuse outside.

I have heard that high humidity levels during flowering can cause fluffy buds. In my personal opinion I think light intensity has more of an issue with density then humidity does. I just got some reasonably tight AK-47 buds out of my dwarf plant, that was a little off to the side of the main light. The headband I just harvested on the other hand I kicked straight under the 1000 W high-pressure sodium and her buds grew fat and dense. I have no control over the humidity levels in my flower room right now which are rather high at about 43%, but I live in the desert and they should go down very soon.
