How are they looking (2 weeks old today)

Hey just wanted some input on how my babies are looking, they seem to be doing much better under the hps, they just seem small to me in comparison to other plants I've seen at this age:

They are about as tall as a BIC pen, and have 6-8 sets of leaves, I know they look yellowish in the picture but thats because of how my camera interprets the hps light. They are under a 150hps (if you want to see my set up please look at my journal), and they are bag seeds.

Thanks!

They'll explode. Believe me. Here's mine at 14 days from seed and then yesterday at 41 days (day 6 of flower). I'm using extreme LST. Clearly I had to get rid of some plants. I'm down to 6 plants now versus 11 before.

not to rain on your setup Its looking great and +rep for it. But I do have one thing that might help with the plants.
you said your using a hps to veg and that works well but a MH would be better if you have thr resources to get one.
or a T5 flourecent pannel setup would be great to.

Your plants look fine for being started from seed. I read your journal entry and I def like your soil mix-well thought out. I buy from HTG as well and upgraded my 400W MH/HPS for their UFO LED Triband 90W and I was surprised that they live up to the hype. I did my research and their lights have perfect spectrums for overall growth (veg/bloom both), so make sure you don't buy the knock-offs without checking the nm wavelengths (blah blah).

Anyway, I put the UFO's to the test against my 400W HID's and will never go back to those heat producing/electric suckers again. lol My plants bushed out early and most were from seed. The stems tripled in size (they were the size of that BIC pen by 2 weeks) and almost all my strains reached a foot within 3 weeks. I am not one to exaggerate but I swear I had more dense and heavy buds than before with the same nutrient system. The weight was nearly double of those under the HID lights. If their's anything to upgrade, lights would be my first but you already seem intelligent enough to know that. Have fun and good luck!
please do not upgade to LED you will be sorry, got to watch out for these LED saleman with 9 post joined in feb 2011. LED are the future just going to be a few years

Wow. This is what I get for trying to be helpful? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't post as a Disabled Combat Veteran just so people would buy from me. Everyone has to join at some point. I understand people join for the reasons you speak of, so this is not written in anger but please be respectful and use some critical thinking. I took the time to share my experience. This is from my personal experiment and the LED's beat the HID, simple. I'm sure HTG doesn't need any help selling their products. Buy from China if you'd wish.
well I still disagree with LEDs but if what you say is true then you have got more out of them than most. as for your service I to have done my time in the sandbox.
I am sorry for coming off strong, just a alot of dealers pushing there products to up sales. peace
