not really no, they are pests and you can bring them in simply from walking out in your garden. nothing 'gets used' to pest strips they kill everything.

For what it is worth.. Dichlorvis (sp?) has been used in vegetable warehouses and grain storage for a long long time (and your cat's flea collar).. The reason is because it tends to not stick around long residually, doesn't get absorbed and is easily washed off. Or so 'they' say.

If you do use the strips and you keep good inventory of your plants, use the no pest strips 5 days in a row.. maybe give it a 6th for good measure, then bag em up for the next crop/time should you need them.

They work.. I'd figure if I didn't break the life cycle and eliminate them after 6 days, they just didn't get used correctly or you have too big of room... 'smaller spaces' work best for obvious reasons.

That is just my thoughts.. everyone else's own mileage may vary.

And while they are relatively safe for your plants, especially if you pull them many days before any kind of harvest, they are NOT particularly something you want to take lightly.

Always wash your hands, and never breath the stuff as much as you can help it..

Now I'll shut up... I probably should of put this all in one post.. arggg

So these Hot Shot pest strips- I just started noticing some white flies at the beginning of veg the other day, I will have the strips in a few days. If I let them hang for a few days and kill all the adults, what about the larvae or young ones in the soil?

Leave long enough to kill new hatchers..then remove if you wish. Repeat if they return. Store in ziplock bags.

Has anyone used these to help deal with thrips ? And do they work to eradicate them
I would absolutely recommend not using these, especially if your grow is in your house. They're fine to use between grows with no plants around as a sanitizing measure but you need to ventilate the room before you go in and spend time with them. It is some really toxic crap and in my opinion they should never be used around living cannabis plants. Read the data sheet on it and decide for yourself if that's something you want to breathe or smoke residue of. There are plenty of alternatives for pests that don't have the health risks that Hot Shot strips do.
