where to get straw (the kind he is talking of, could i just use a broom) and did you say i could use other stuff other then horse shit
so far i am becoming clearer on how this is done
first step is to order some spores
then get some bird seeds and jars
-the find something fro the shrooms to grow on-
could i not just take them out of the jars and let them grow from there with out doing any other steps

if you use the rice cakes you dont need wbs or poo just the cakes but you wont get as big a harvest

rice cakes are good for noobs easy cheap and harder to fuck up

after the jars are fully colonized, assuming you shook the jar as the process went on, then you pasturize the horse poo in the bucket. than layer colonized wbs than horse poo, than more wbs, than more horse poo, than a lot of wbs, than last layer of horse poo in a clear rubbermaid with all the essentials (humidity, air exchange, indirect light) and couple weeks later...BOOMERS! Fairly easy process, sterilization is key.

Horse poo is probably the easiest and cheapest to get depending where you live, craigslist always has people giving it away but you can use other growing mediums as well.:joint:

is each layer of wbs colonized or is it just the bottom layer

so if each layer is colonizesd? how many jars of tek will i need for one setup

wher do i get the needles from
and are they legal to order (i'm guessing no)

spores101.com has a good deal on orders like 3 syringes for 45 bucks o 10 for like 100 bucks. they should cost no more than 15 bucks for single syringes. one 10 ml syringe is good for about 6 to 7 jars

do i have to apply the tek to anything
cant i get the shrooms to grow from the tek
like if i just dump all the insides of the jar into a tote will it sooner or later grow shrooms - what am i missing in the understanding
i gat the tek part understood finally- but what are my options with it

like can i layer the colonized wbs with plain wbs and then get shrooms...
yes but it would be a waste of grains... The whole purpose to working with grains is to spawn the grians which act as thousands of small spawn points for your larger substrate like pooh...
I'm not convinced that WBS on its own is a good substrate... in the process of testing....
...and yes those shrooms are fine to eat as is, but needs to be dried for storage and then sealed airtight to stay dry. Don't think you'd be able to eat all that...

you said you are running a test. what is the other medium you are testing other then the wbs
