home appraisal/evaluation inspection by the county

apparently, someone is going to come by to appraise the value of my house. if i'm home, they will request permission to inspect my home. if i'm not home, they will set up an appointment.

i'm hoping i'm not home when they come, i'll make an appointment and hide my grow as well as possible. i'm more worried about someone coming when i'm sitting here, drunk and high, and wanting to inspect my home, without any warning.

i guess i'll clean up and make the basement as presentable as possible. i can turn off the grow real easy and it doesn't smell yet, although i just started flowering.

the note i got says the inspection will take approximately 10 minutes. they can't be very thorough, but it doesn't take long to have a problem.

they can do the whole thing from outside .. all they need is the sq ft of the house and the size of the land

When i have a grow on i dnt answer my door for anyone unless exspecting company.

i'll try to keep them out of the house, i won't clean for a while. if they must come in, i'll try to keep them out of the basement.

dirtyboy, i thought the same thing. if i'm home and someone comes by unexpected, i'll walk out the back, get on my bike and ride away. they won't come in without my permission and if i can postpone for an appointment i'm set.

Are you seriously that paranoid? Dont answer the door, go spend the day fishing, whatever.

i'm kinda bi-polar/OCD so i get paranoid easily and i smoke a lot, yes, i'm paranoid.

if i have to make an appointment for them to inspect my house, i'll be sure to completely wasted and mostly naked when they come. i'll make sure they can't get into the basement.

my grow is all on one circuit breaker so it's super easy to turn off on a moments notice.

i've hidden grows before, i can do it again. it's just more stress that i could live without.

If it is because your house is for sale then they do not need to enter, as mentioned earlier. But if this is government housing and they are inspecting it, then that could be a different story. Just dont answer the door, they will walk around the property, take measurements, make sure the house is not visibly in ill-repair, etc. Dont stress it. The times I have had my inspections I never even knew when they did it.

It depends on the type of appraisal being done. Some appraisals require the appraiser to go inside the house. Some just require the appraiser to drive by the property, take a picture, and provide some info.

That usually applies to houses that normally have unfinished areas, that have been finished and the value is being questioned.

If it is an Insurance inspection or for a mortgage, they will need to get in the house to inspect it all. They should give notice and set an appointment too so you can get it all out of there. Good luck.

In all my cases, all of the appraisals/insurance inspections, no one has ever entered the house. Depends on the geography I guess.

They do in Canada.

the notice says "on-going revaluation program"..... "guarantee accurate information and a far and equitable assessment of your property".

i think that means it's for taxation. i thought about slipping the guy $50 to lower my valuation.

my house is privately owned by myself and occupied by myself. normal house, 1200sq ft, one drywalled "closet" in the basement. i haven't modified the house, same condition for several years.

nothing, nothing in mail, nothing stuck to the door, no visitors

maybe the county ran out of gas money to inspect every fucking house

open the door and blow some OG Kush smoke in his face
then ask "may i be of any assistance? "

that should let him know that you couldn't possibly be stupid enough to do that
and be a grower at the same time, youll just be some dumbass college kid stoner.
