That's 1/2 of the room, 28 days in flowering. The other side of the room (each side has a Gavita 1700e) looks exactly like it. 12 plants each side...........

You can go much lower really. With a strip light the minimum height you can use is equal to the heart-to-heart distance between the bars/strips

I was running them at a 12 inch distance, and I felt the plants suffered a bit. My CO2 level is at about 900, so bringing them much closer probably doesn't add any value. If I supplemented it to a higher level, then that might be a different story.

Yeah wouldn't go lower than 8" myself with 8 bars distributed over 5'.

I hang my strips at 6" (equal to heart-to-heart strip distance). Sometimes I let the taller plants grow between the strips. No CO2 at all.

It's not that big a deal I guess. I see about 1% to 2% more light in total per inch lowered. Lower hanging light means less light lost on the walls.

I did hear back from Gavita today and they recommend hanging their LED's in flowering at 18 inches for a 4 X 4 ft. area and at 20 inches for a 5 X 5 area to increase the spread a bit.
