You want me to keep it real? I love good conversation. Had I been able to manage my temps from HPS, I woulda said you’re fucking crazy to say there’s better out there cuz man that thing produced I won’t deny that.

on the contray, my LEDS run ice cold, power bill is literally half what it was for same watts, and it’s “new school”
Can you clarify a bit on this statement?
What your current LED wattage for the grow space and what was the wattage when you had hps? Also, what where average yields with the two different lighting techs? :peace:

Im guessing due to not having to run AC all the time. That's been my experience.

I vote for getting the 4 qb120s. I think its a killer deal. @GrassBurner has a thread going where he just built that setup for a 2x4, and he is a new grower as well. Im sure he would give you a hand or at least be able to convince you to give it a shot.

I'm so glad I went with the 4 QB120's. I was a little nervous about wiring everything up correctly at first, but HLG has an entire page dedicated to information about the QB120. They have lists of acceptable drivers, 3 or 4 different wiring options with diagrams, and all the info you need. Wiring up the lights was the easiest part of my build.

Buy your driver from TRC. A few days after I recieved my driver from them, I recieved a call from a representative. He was just calling to see if I had any questions, which I did. He cleared everything up for me. It's a super simple and straight forward process.

Build a simple frame, keeping in mind how you will attach the boards.

The quantum boards have the connectors built into them, and all you have to do is push the wire into the connector, it's really that simple. 4 boards took me 4 minutes to wire up. I'm cheap, so I got my plug at Lowes. Wire the plug directly to the wire coming out of the driver, (hot, neutral, ground) and mount the driver close to an outlet. Simple. Get a roll of red and a roll of black 18 gauge solid wire, wire your boards up, and connect your 2 wires to the 2 wires coming out of the other side of the driver with some simple crimp connectors. Electrical tape the connections, and you're done.

I tend to go a little overboard on research. I work hard for my money, and if Im gonna spend it on something, I want to make sure I spending it on something good. I hate to waste. For the money, I couldnt even get close to this quality of a setup anywhere else. HLG is right here in America, if I have a problem I can call them today and speak with someone, and from what I have read they have excellent customer service. Not to mention you can have everything you need delivered to your house within a week, and be growing asap. No waiting for some busted ass package coming from halfway around the world. And what if it arrives damaged. That's a whole nother headache.

There are certain places where you dont want to be cheap. Lighting is the most important part of an indoor grow. You're getting 4 premium quality quantum boards for $100, a Mean Well driver, and the freedom to adjust how your light fixture is constructed so that it fits your needs exactly. For me, the leds put off just enough heat to keep my cabinet at an optimal growing temperature with an ambient temp in my house around 77 degrees. And that's without my fans on.

I promise building your own light isnt as daunting a task as it sounds. I'm so glad I pulled the trigger, I'm extremely satisfied with my choice. I've been testing some tomato and pepper plants under these lights, and they're response was incredible!!

I’ve heard that’s important lol. I just want something quick cause it’s gotta be within the 30 days so I can send blurple back.
They say 10 days. But who knows with the Corona virus. I just wanted you to know about the pricing difference so you can make the best educated guess when purchasing a light.

They buy those lights off of alibaba and then mark them up and resell them. I can get that 500 watt light for 250 on alibaba. With Cree far reds instead of the cheeper ones.
buying parts and assembling them and reselling for a profit? you dont say? so basically what every single light fixture company does...? How do you know they are knock-offs? I also havent heard any complaints about osram deep or far reds, whats wrong with them?

Yes you are correct. Just about the same as every other light company does. My comment is not to put down that distributor but to only make it understood that we can go around the middle man.

Again I’m not saying that osram is a inferior product. I’m only saying that once you understand the differences in LED tech, it doesn’t matter who built and sold the light. It matters what options you use, and what growing situation you need. And lastly, I can buy a ps4 with a 128 gh hard drive or one that has 256. If I can get the 256 for the price of the 128,then my mom who grew up in the trailer court, said dat a good deal

Just picked me up a new toy.
The Etherdose duo.

ETHERDOSE DUO Fertilizer Injection System [STANDARD KIT]

Item may be a factory refurbished unit or brand new old stock.!

Did you ever wonder how your reservoir’s EC, PH, and temperature fluctuates during the day, week or month? Maybe you are longing for the peace of mind of knowing your product is being given every drop of nutrients it needs, at the very best PH and Temperature optimal for its development and growth, ensuring the highest yields genetically possible. Maybe you are the kind of person that craves automation. The “set and forget” type, or maybe you are a control freak, someone who constantly needs sensor input and the assurance that only an active monitoring solution can provide. The ETHERDOSE DUO can deliver on all these needs and many more.

At the heart of every ETHERDOSE DUO is a dedicated dual channel EC, PH and temperature sensor, providing real time multimodal view of your reservoir for accurate sensing and precise automation.

The included automation software runs autonomously. No need to connect it to a dedicated PC. When EC or PH levels fluctuates, depending on user settings, the ETHERDOSE DUO will intelligently inject the proper dosage of chemicals needed for a positive adjustment to EC or a negative/positive adjustment to PH. Whenever fluctuations occur, the unit logs the data to its built in flash microSD card. The types of actuators you can connect vary from precise peristaltic pumps to high flow rate solenoid valves. Choose the proper actuator for your application and scale. Change your settings to include your actuator’s flow rate, so that the duo can make doses accurately when needed.

Easy to set up web interface means you can check, update, and configure your duo on the go, using a mobile phone, tablet, MAC or PC.

For larger applications, join your ETHERDOSE DUO controllers into a network for seamless integration. Included client software allows networks of controllers to be easily managed. For any application, no matter the scale, the ETHERDOSE DUO will work for you.

Standard ETHERDOSE DUO fertilizer injection system. Includes one controller, one EC probe with temperature compensation, one PH probe, three peristaltic pumps, sample pot, user manual, microSD card, power supply, cables and a standard set of reference solutions.
Read more about the ETHERDOSE DUO at the manufacturer’s website.
1 year limited warranty on controller, 90 day limited warranty on probes and pumps from date of purchase.

EC Sensing is accurate from 0 to 20,000 uSiemens, accurate to 50 uSiemens.
PH Sensing is accurate from 1.0 to 14.0, accurate to 0.02.

kingbrite has qb288 panels for cheap. 107 for 240w or 175 for the 320w. shipping is prolly 60-80.

I mentioned that to him earlier. This exact same model you recommended. From what friends I got, they are extremely happy with theirs. One guy replaced his lights wit 20+ of the 240 Qb’s I would like 4- 480 watts, and 2 of the 240’s. That would be 2400 watts. I’m trying to replace 4-1000 watt hps’s.
