What’s that light do to your power bill Doug? I was thinking of retiring my multiple QB lamp setup in exchange for one stationary HLG rig. Do you love the 600r spec? That’s what I was looking at.
Its not bad on the hydro bill. 300 watts in veg and 630 in Flower. The extra 30 watts comes from the UV bar attachment. I do love the Rspec. I am sure I could have got the same results from other LED's or home built ones but I have nothing bad to say about this light and am happy I bought it.

It's pretty dense and after just smoking a joint of it I can say it did not disappoint.
The reason I asked is I still use my 600 watt hps and wanted to know if that light actually made the buds more frosty visually. Also the weight. Seems like you got that covered. If I can get a frostier bud with the same weight and less watts then it's a win. Thanks man :eyesmoke:

He spent 1000$ on a LED light that produces same as a 600 hps good job
That's the thing with these LED's. The up front cost is so fucking high. I pay $75 a pop for my Hortilux 600 super hps. I change it twice a year. The hoods last forever if you keep them clean. Even if you change them out every 5 years it still saves money over the LED. I dunno man.

Forreal man sometimes I question my purchase of Led even though I got my 550 HLG for $500. What do they do better than hps besides less heat ? Idk I can't call it.
The electric bill. That’s the main reason people switch. That and heat. Running two tents with HPS will send your bill up a couple hundred bucks extra a month....

You spend $300 a year on bulbs so if you bought a LED for $900 it would pay for itself in a few years. Not to mention the power and cooling savings. And an LED will last longer than 3 years if you get decent ones.

I don't agree with that. I run both LED and 600 watt hps. Quite a few of each. Plus my AC is on 24/7 most of the year and I leave it at 78 and it still cools the house very well.

Yes, it turns on much more often and my bill is huge, but it wouldn't be "a couple hundred bucks" lower if I changed to LED. That's absurd. I agree slightly lower but you are talking about a warehouse full of LED compared to hps.

In a room or 2 of tents it may come out to $20 savings a month............if that.

Well I know personally when I was running HPS and got a power bill for one month for $500 my ole lady MADE me switch. But I was running hella fans and dehumidifier and AC to keep temps/humidity straight. LEDS run cold and produce a lot of power IMO. So maybe for everyone it doesn’t work out cheaper I’d dialed in, but for me it did work a lot cheaper. Power is only around $300 now.

So 1 light saved you $200 a month? I gotta call bullshit man I'm sorry. Not saying you are lying, just saying I can't believe that.

1 light? No.

switching from HPS to LED, no longer needing my DEHU due to not high heat, don’t have to run extra AC, due to high heat, and don’t have 4 fans blowing, from the high heat. Removing all those extras that were necessary to keep my HPS rig usable saved me 200 a month.

Holy crap I run 5 600 watt lights @ 660 and I hardly use all that crap. My AC runs constantly. I run 3 550 Bspecs and 4 V2 100's and I don't even use all those fans. My bill is less than $500 a month.

Something doesn't add up here.

You're actually right. I'm high. And to think I actually have a math degree, lol.

You know what I'm saying though. So more like 4 years.

I have no issues with people using HID, but the LED tech has come a long ways.
Pada, I added up all the $$$$ needed up front to light 5 tents over 5 years. Assuming the hoods and ballasts last 5 years the total cost came out to $4750 for 5 ballasts, 5 hoods and 2 bulbs for each tent a year.

Assuming the LED's last 5 years with no problems for 5 tents - for an awesome HLG light - gonna cost $5k minimum up front.

Now with the SLIGHTLY lower cost to run the LED's you will definitely save more than enough $$$ to make the LED option more viable. It's the up front $$$ that hurts.

LOL, thanks for your opinion. You don't like my purchase feel free to keep changing bulbs and fighting heat. I know it was a good job. The same as a 600 HPS, ROFL, ok. I have run both and am more than happy with my purchase considering it replaced a 1000 watt HPS that required cooling, bulb changes and resolution of too much heat. Why you're spouting off like this on my thread makes me wonder? But hey, it's all good. Hate on LED's all you want. I am going to go smoke another joint produced by my purchase. You take care now.

Oh shit DD, I thought you ran a 600. That's why I asked the questions I did last night. For the comparison. I think you said it came out pretty much the same. But you were talking about compared to the 1000 hps.........................now that's fucking awesome then :eyesmoke:
