High Times 2011 Medical Cannabis Cup in S.F., Worth my time and money to visit?

The 2011 High Times Medical Cannabis cup is being held in San Francisco June 25th, and 26th:blsmoke:. It will cost me about $100 in gas, $100 for the 2 day ticket, and food, lodging (okay you bay area folks, all I need is a spot to park my truck for the night and I'll crash in the back of the truck, help a brother save a dollar) and all those souvenirs I will need to buy....LOL...should I go?
Guess I need some input from people who attended Denver, or anybody who has some info on this event. Times are tough, but would like to attend, but don't want to go through the effort, and spend the cash if it's "not all that", you know what I mean?

the one thing i cant fucking stand about the city .. ( I go quite a bit ) is the god damned parking .. its such bullshit. where are you coming from ?

You can always park the truck here if you like. I dont personally think it is worth it. The few events that I have went to were not at all impressive. I think me you and a few others could have a much better event and prosper at the same time. Dirrtyd

The Dirty D medical Cannabis cup or the RIU Medical Cannabis Cup?.....now you got me thinking!
I've been to a few "Indoor Gardening Expos" and left disappointed, and wanting more. That's why I asked. Was hoping to hear from someone who attended in Denver.
Need more info, got my place to stay!

You are totally right basically all the shows i have been to have been a joke, taken my kids to a lot of them even. But the 2 exceptions happened on my birthday weekend, 1st was the Medical Cup here in Denver, 2nd was the Indoor Grow Expo, also in Denver. Both were not to be missed events.
I would find out if there will be a "Medicating Section" of the show, if it is a High Times show it will almost certainly have one. If it does, go for sure, odds are they will have nearly as many booths on that side of things, most of them just giving free samples. I spent basically nothing at the show, and was able to get discount tickets through mmjdailydeals, not sure if you guys have that or not, but i believe we payed $60 for 2 of us for 2 days. If you have the time and money to spare it will be worth it, an unforgettable experience. Tons of free stuff, and a great atmosphere cause we can go in the other room and get really really high.

Hey Brother thanks for responding....
From what I read on their web site they're having a "prop 215 area" which is the proposition here in Cali that allows for medical marijuana use. When I read that I automatically assumed that is what you were talking about in Denver. I think you made my mind up for me,....I'm in! Sounds like a good time, and I'm hoping educational.

Never been to an event like this. I heard 4/20 in Frisco was hella kewl, so this should blow that out of the water!
When you mention free "samples" does this mean i need an "apparatus" i.e. bubbler?
And also, http://medcancup.com/san-francisco/faq/ seems very adamant about no "free samples". Any ideas?:blsmoke:

Yeah, I'm making the 5+ hour trip from Los Angeles, but mostly cause me an my girl just wanna get away for a few days. If you buy your tickets online, it's like 50 bucks for the 2 day pass w/o the Saturday night party...I don't really care if there are free samples or not, but if there are even better! I'm fully expecting it to be lame, but it's not a bad excuse to get away from my life down here for a couple days...Gonna grub out on some Dim Sum in Chinatown, maybe some chowder in a sourdough bowl, haha...tourist bullshit really.

This guy TruenoAE86coupe went to the Denver event and said it kicked ass!
I was going to do the VIP 2 day party pass, but now looking like I may roll into town Friday evening and just attend Saturday, we'll see.
Hope to see you there, I'll be wearing my #64 Raiders Jersey, I'm a BIG DUDE, 6'-5" 300+lbs, so if you see me say high!...LOL

This event isn't like the expo'S. They suck. We went last year, were going now, and we'll be in Amsterdam in November. This is the only show we go to. It's totally worth it if you talk to everyone, meet the growers, get into the 420 area...
