it's a primary school not a high school..

and he was kind of smart considering none of the staff would have had any reason what so ever to go down there.. shame he got sprung just because of the electricity readings lol

NO WAY IT WAS THE POWER BILL THAT LED them there...... I could only see 4 lights... mybey he had 8.... 8 1k.... you would be usesing that with classrooms........
ahhhhhh but history of the school would have been consistant..... and then he moves in puts up lights draws a new power useage average would probably spark intrest?!??? not sure about that...scare tactics for cops and growers...

Yeah, I expect a quarterly bill came through and there was a bit of a gap... no doubt the history of eleccy bills would have been very consistent. I suspect it was spotted internally at the school, then enquired about to electricity company...

Yeah, growing on school grounds was a bit of a high risk, but quite smart in theory (how many people get the janitor's set of keys i wonder...)

“There were dozens of plants, in rows, being encouraged to grow quickly under hydroponic lights."

Hmmm...no fooling.

I mean it wasnt a really
extravagant set up or anything, but it does take a lot of space...and wut exactly is a boiler room? anyways i think more than just the janitor was in on it, but he had to take the fall lol and some one had to tip the cops off, cuz those 4 lights couldnt have been wut got the cops called, its a damn school the electricity bill is prolly huge already

my comment was on the stupidity of the phrase "hydroponic lights" think about it...

As far as the electric being how they got caught, dude...the place has probably been running for years with VERY consistent power usage. It makes no difference how big their bill was to begin with adding a few 1000 watts to it caused a variance in the normal pattern.

True, but what's to say that the school didn't just install a few new light fixtures?

They must have been tipped off. I'd bet the only reason the article said the electric company was to ensure the tipster's anonymity.

i was a janitor in a highschool for a few years and let me tell you, there is no way he got busted due to power. maybe if it was like 50 lights or more, but we would leave tons of 300 to 600 watt lights on all the time. at my place, we didnt have that kinda room to dedicate to grow ops. but its a damn good idea. i wonder how he was doing it.
