high pressure sodium???

so with these bulbs do you have to have an ignitor??? what is it for? or could u just screw the bulb right into a light socket?thanks.

you need a ballast..a reg socket wont work

The screw end of the HPS bulb is big...way bigger that a regular socket. You will need a ballast. Easier to just go here and order one.
