1 wk later no bumps but the clones vegged on me :-( .I thought I could slack off from previous set up and technique.I know this because the mystery strain running along side grow did not root either where I had 100% succes rate at getting bumps in 7 days.
Things I did not do:
1 cut back nute and light strength of donor plant.
2 had a 13 watt 2700K and 13 watt 6500K cfl's a little further away (couple inches) but now have a 19 watt 6500K a little closer.
3 did not trim back leafset to size of a half dollar to inhibit transpiration and vegging.
4 I was previously using well water that was slightly acidic and high in iron (not accesable anymore and would use ph correct when show bumps but feel this has nothing to do with it).
I think 1,2,3 are factors in fail and a 2700K (from very minor and limited experimintation) helps in root stimulation.
the clones are still healthy although vegged some and had a N deep green develop now fading and have some brown in stem edges but still has white exposure.I will change res with ph 6 with the "Take Root",add a 20 watt 2700K,cut back leafset, and move potential mothers to lower lighting and nute regimen and for another round of cuttings if needed. The donors were about 1 mo from seed and may have been a factor too.they are strong, healthy and have nice bud supporting stems.I am so tempted to flip them but that is a no no.......8)

cloning can be a mysterious process at times, hard to say what has made the difference
from my limited experience, less light is usually better, so having the bulb closer was a red flag, but overall it doesn't sound like you've increased light
but the fading color reminds me of cloning's #1 enemy, too much light

Right on Growone. One thing I forgot to mention is that I did not scarify 1/4" up and opposite of cut (maybe provides an osmonic/capillary action?),but I did the split tail thing on the cut that seemed to help in past.I think the Maxibloom had more N than I thought and donors should of had less of a feed.I am hopefull that it was expended in there vegging(clones) and addition of 2700K and a little further away will produce. In the mean time donors will be moved to mother area (lower lighting and feed) for another round of cuttings if needed now that they are approaching maturity.
p.s. anyone know if I hit journal this post, what does it actualy do?will it journal the whole thread or do something silly and undesirable?

i think journal will just add 1 post to the journal, i don't use it myself, just do old fashioned threads
i don't scarify my cuttings, but then i'm not a pro cloner

I figured something silly.thks.Well I was thinking what else was diffferent from original setup besides location.I had a 2 gal res with a 5-10 gal air pump (aquaculture) with wally stones but now using same pump with a Sunleaves Oxystone (very nice btw).Nice bubbles but figured I will just switch it out with a Tetra whisper 20-30 gal pump with gang valve to control flow.I go in the new clone box and see bumps.:hump:
the bumps were on clones with areas of bubble concentration.I installed the Tetra.
I think the main culprit was full nuted donors and the extra bubbles will help others along.Weird thing is the bumps are above cuts.I also read a post were someone says the split tail cut technique takes longer to root but you get stronger roots.Next cuttings are going to be what I originaly did wich is pretty much in most tutorials.Glad to have the Tetra laying around from an extant DWC.Extra good news is the EFP seeds arrived(little longer than 1st order but hey).

It took 3 weeks to get my order after yjey received my payment, then they sent one set of wrong seeds and missed another part of the order. I finally got the third part of the order. Not so sure about this one....

Done right by me twice, but only did single order each.I do not like putting all my eggs in one basket though.

these have some impressive stems - stout stems, stout buds?
That's what I am thinking Growone.

Update:2 more females confirmed via 12/12 clone...5 fems
I screwed up some seeds (replaced one) but so far 5 out 9 is fem and waiting on one more that I f'ed up clones of (redo).
Anything near fem wise to the 50/50 ratio probability is a win in my book with unfemmed seeds.:hump:

one thing with highgrade seeds, there seems to be a very consistent and good ratio with females
i've yet to see a '9/10' male experience(and the femme was a mutant) from hgs
which can't be said for a lot of other breeders

Same previously pictured clone after 28 days of 12/12.She stretched to 7.5 inches and filling in nice.New batch of clones from leached N donors are growing roots after 9 days with more than 50% after 12 days. Not my record of 7 days bumps then 14 days for transplant with mystery strain, but I am still dialing things in.Very very low odor (fruity pine) with lights on and light skunkyness with lights out.I have to put my nose right on top of bud to smell the fruity pine aroma.I am very happy with the straight to 12/12 rooted clone stretch.I am going to try 1 week rooted clone veg one of these days and see if I can keep them under 12 inches for my PLL's effective range.Imagine 28 of these....GO MICRO SOG GO!

I agree with that. I picked up the super strain mix pack a couple of years ago and I am 5/6 females of the seeds I have popped.

low fruity pine? that really tracks well with his nl#5 which had a pretty low pine odor
be interesting if those traits blended like that

I will be happy with the smoke you got from your NL#5,but I have my fingers crossed for a lil faster finish.Time will tell.
