Hi,
I'm looking to grow outdoor at 1600m/5249ft in a tropical highland climate. Anybody got recommendations on high altitude autoflowering strains? There won't be that many, but please let it rain recommendations!

I see @MATTYMATT726 came through here, pretty sure he grows autos. I haven't grown any since last year. Mephisto is one that I know I can recommend, but autos are every changing and getting better. I'll let someone up to date on them give you recommendations.

I'm aware that some plants thrive in different weather/climates but never ever heard of altitudes being any kind of factors. Tropical climate usually has longer sun so you could do indicas or sativas, whichever you prefer i suppose. And as far as what you want help with, type of high, flavours, taste mesical conditions and whatever else will help you get suggestions on strains. I'd absolutely support you checking out Mephisto first. Dinafem, Sweet Seeds, Dutch Passion, Fast Buds are all top choices for good autos as a start.

Thanks guys. Yes, I just finished talking to a seed wholesaler. It's going to be rather on the large side.:weed:

I've grown autos at 7000ft in the rockies, you should be fine with most choices.
Forgot to ask: How did they deal with night time temp changes? Would you please be so kind to take a look at the chart below and tell me, if it coincides with your experience? If you wonder for a second... I'm in the southern hemisphere, so our summer is your winter.

I was always under the impression that temps over 50f were best for autos. My outdoor autos were always exposed to 40's at night, most did well some didn't. You should have a lot of good months for autos. You could crop out a few times

I would add silica to ANY choices you make to help harden them for environmental swings.
Yep! That's the plan. ;)

Sadly, I'm only getting the soil testing done this week and I haven't been on site yet. Porbably we will have to get a quick cover crop in, just to be on the safe side.
