HID Light suggestions for a 2'8"x6'x6' Grow Tent

Was looking for advice on what light / lights to purchase. Not sure what to do because of the long and narrow design I had to go with (only space I can put it). Also, anyone have any opinions on those digital system grow lights you can get on Amazon for around $200. Thanks in advance for any help.

I wouldn't since HIDs have a squarish\roundish footprint. To be efficient you will be stuck with a 250 watt or less, and then you will need a couple of them.
You could get a couple T5s along the sides and put a couple of cheap UFO leds on the top.

Thanks - thinking of getting a dimmable 1000 watt MH/HPS with a MH bulb to start then getting a light mover or second light later when I have some extra cash.

So many choices / decisions to make...

~50W/ft^2 would be 2x 400W (2.6ft x 6ft = 15.6sq.ft X 50W = 780W)
Or 1x 400W on a light mover + 4ft T5's.

If you use the 600's make sure they are dimmable you will have heat issues for sure, simply put that tent is long and skinny, you will need two lights or one light on a rail which are expensive as well.

Peace

Here is what I ended up doing:

To start I purchased this:
1 x Quantum 600W Dimmable Electronic Ballast $139.90
1 x Sunlight Yield Master II Classic Air-Cooled Reflector 6" $64.90
1 x Digilux 600W Enhanced Spectrum Metal Halide Grow Bulb $59.90
1 x ProGrip 150LB Light Hanger Pair $12.90

This will get me by for a little while to start, then as need arises and I have a little more $$ I’ll basically either do this x 2 and add HPS bulbs or maybe buy a light mover.

Thanks for the advice - let's hope this works out and looking forward to getting started soon.

Things are moving along good - got my Panda Film and Hydrofarm 6" 400 CFM fan and fan controller, found two 6' Light Track 3.5 light movers on Craigslist for $150, and picked up my Pro-mix and fabric pots. Setup a separate area 2'x4'x3'H and have my seedlings going with a perpetual grow in mind for the future. Now if Plantlighting Hydroponics would ship my damn light I'd be good to go.
