Hi I need help with a indoor grow, A/C and no exhaust.

Greetings, I'd like to start by saying I'm not totally new, and thanks for any help on this subject. I can manage without any general info about how I am growing and only would like input about the environment. I don't need a space habitat or pressurized room. I could not find a straight answer. I have about 5 harvests under my belt 2 using soil, then I switched to hydro, below is how I did my grow, but in a house where I could vent air out. I averaged about 2-2.5oz per plant, I honestly got tired and stopped weighing the harvest, it was mostly for personal use, so 2.5 was good for me, I think it can be more as I go on. I flowered 4 at a time after I learned about not letting them grow to tall and crowd each other.

My Wife and I are splitting up, so my grow situation has changed. The apartment I am looking at moving in is a 2 BR, in both rooms there is a A/C, the windows are side windows, so I dont even want to mess with them for security reasons. Not sure of the room I am going to use, but either way I will be using (2) 5x5 grow tents, hydro system, 600W LED light(bloom) 300W LED (veg).

The questions is, the apartment already has a AC in it, so if I block the windows 100% so no light gets in, could I use a carbon filter inside the bloom tent venting the now scrubbed air outside the top of the tent, have a smaller intake fan on the bottom vent of the tent. Could I rely on the A/C to cool that room and exhaust the hot air out the apartment? I have no interest in using Co2. I do have supplemental humidifiers, fans, and I figure since this is a bedroom, me going in and out of it to check plants will be enough combined with the a/c either on COOL or FAN, possibly even heat.. (I live in a colder climate) will be enough for air exchange.

Its going to be very low traffic in the apartment, and when I'm not in the room I will probably add a towel to the bottom of the door lol (it works in hotels). I will have a separate Carbon filter in the main area of the apartment just as a backup from any odor coming out. Probably going to change the filters out 2mons early just to make sure. I can't have any odor leaks coming out.

So again, my main concerns are is this sufficient for exhaust and odor? The A/C and the filters? Using the window would make me stand out and is really not an option, neither is fucking up the walls or ceiling to make a hole. I really appreciate any help, and sorry I know this has probably been asked in many various ways as I saw when looking for the answer. However my situation is focusing on a grow tent, and might as well say no window, only a/c, fans and humidifiers, and a dehumidifier.

You think it might look weird running an a/c in the winter? Unless it has a heater it probably won't even turn on.

What about fan/pump noise?

What about obvious meterial you have to lug upto your apt...

Your playing with fire man. I'd find a safer place

I'd think that as long as the A/C unit can remove heat from that space and transfer outside, it should be fine. A carbon scrubber on a vent fan should help at keeping odors in check.

Thanks man but... Only the questions, all those things you're mentioning arent a concern.. Not being rude but.. I'll elaborate this once.. Noise is 0 concern.., material I will have to lug in will be going into a private entry, only I can see it, so I may have to use a box or something, even do it after midnight.. Nobody is gonna walk by and see why my ac is on, they would have to raise their hand up to it, as far as they know I may have the fan or heat on. Besides it was 60F last week, so thats not gonna be a problem. The A/C was just to cool the room, if I dont need to cool the room, it is still being scrubbed so I can use a fan for air circulation. But thanks, I'm just not a newbie.

If you don't use the ac fan, how do you plan on replenishing the co2?

Do you have another fresh air source or just plan on breathing heavy in there a few times a day?

I had a small window port open in the basement of my last setup, and that produced nice.. I'm sure in a 2BR apartment when I enter it and have a window cracked somewhere else in the apartment air will get in that way.

I don't think simply having an intake will work for you... You need to exhaust.

Or it's all just going to blow into your apt. And if you manage to seal it then your ac fan will just run without any effect.

Dryer vent?
Stove pipe?
Bathroom vent?
Seal the vent around your ac and just don't turn on your ac.... And use a big exhaust inline fan

Figured as long as I could keep the room cool, me opening the door would be enough, that and the scrubbers and fans will circulate all that. What do you suggest without altering the apartment?

Can you leave the window open a crack in the room?

Or is there some vent in the ceiling already?
Or the floor. Or closet.

Look around first

I'm not sure what you mean by use a big exhaust fan.. such as the one already in the tent with the filter attached to it? How would I keep the room cool? and no if I could use a a dryer vent then I wouldn't have to ask this question.. the setup has to be in one of the bedrooms, no other kind of venting, besides a side opening window I dont want to use.

I guess a crack wouldn't hurt as long as the wind blowing in didn't create a light leak. But how is that exhausting the air if it's only open a crack. If I didn't mind the window being open, I would just find a way to put the ventilation hose there some kinda way, but that would be kind of obvious it seems.

You could put black fabric over the screen and put stuff in the pipe to stop light leaks. There's different ways.

Id run it for a bit and see if it gets too hot.

If it does. Be prepared to use the window and rig something up around it to stop the light.. Hang blankets. whatever

Or find a better apt

thats the issue.. I have to act quick.. I can't experiment with it and it not work, then I'm just in a useless apartment...
