Hi Guys

Hi guys im new to the forums

More than 10 years ago i have sucesfully grown outdoor two times but recently got back into growing again.

I fell in love with the autoflower types that are much better for climates that dont have long and strong summer.

Too bad im having a problem with 1 of them causing me to find these forums.

Already learned allot from just browsing around and hoping to learn more, who doesn't want better buds ^^

I think because im a new user to these forums, my post in the "problems" section is blacklisted or hidden.

The problem with one of my plants is that i germinated them in cotton pads,
sadly one of them had it seed shell ripped off on the third day when checking up on them...

It was basically a root with a small brown dot i never expected to appear above the soil after being planted.

But it has some growing problems, the problem seemed very similar to what is sometimes described as seed shell/membrame being stuck on seedling.

Most responces i got so far are thinking it had a important nutrient leaf/part ripped off.

Now after a few days it seems it might be growing a little bit so perhaps there is still a chance, but its still a bit "flat".

i would say you can afford to close the gap between your plant and light if useing one.

it looks to me like the cotidians are stuck together at there tips. you can get a small pair of sizzors and cut the very tip off if it doesnt do it its self.
you see the green part at the very top, you just snip it off.
do you have more seed?

best to use kitchen paper or toilet roll to germ in, that or directly into soil.
what medium are you going to grow in?
what lights you got?

What do you mean with the green part, the red circle or blue circle on this picture?



I had them indoors the very first days (with not enough light) but they are outdoors now and doing much better.
For soil im planning to use standard cheap compost garden soil with "Easy Boost" organic nutrients from Royal Queen Seeds.

I have currently 2 other auto flower plants of strain Easy Buds that are doing much better beside some stretching because of first few days.
Its only this one a Royal Bluematic autoflower that had the germination problem and has trouble now.

I still have 3 more seeds of which might try germinate one, whole idea was to do 2 runs this summer, partly overlapping with 3 plants each.

There are still 2 days on which the max temp drops to 5c after which i planned to transplant them to larger 10L pots with the nutrients mixed in.

Do you mean this post? If so, if you right click on your avatar and choose messages it will give you a linked list of your posts. I know I've had to use it more than once. I smoke a lot of pot, many of us do. Welcome to RIU.

I think it only has one cotyledon, I am guessing the other came off with the seed somehow.. the picture in post #4 is showing front and back of the same plant if I am not mistaken, you can see all of the first serated leaves meaning they are not stuck between the cotyledons

to @AutoFlow I think you just have to give her time, she will be stunted until her true leaves grow in more and takeover for the cotyledons

Problem with auto flower seedling

Hi all. I'm a newbie grower who did have outdoor plants in the past, but never started them from the seeds myself. Started with 3 autoflower seeds in damp cotton and am having a problem with 1 of them. The other 2 are Easy Bud type are seem to be doing fine, the third one Royal Bluematic is...

Since it has been about been a few days without much progression, i'm actually considering to cut top part of as "go go Kid" suggested.

As i have more seeds its becoming a time thing and i might as well try another seed if this one fails. Better weather is coming soon where i live.

A few days? It had a cotyledon torn off! you can expect this to likely set you back 1-2 weeks or more depending on how the plant bounces back compared to a seedling that did not have that happen..

I’m pretty sure @go go kid thought your cotyledon were stuck together but your picture shows just one cotyledon. Your first picture makes it look that way but once you turned it around (2nd pic) it was clear to me you only have one bcs you can see the first true leaves and they aren’t stuck between the cotyledon

So far most recommend to leave it alone, im considering to just start another seed just to have to feeling of having 3 good plants. Who knows maybe this one bounces back...

yes, leave it, it will/should continue to grow.
sorry, i didnt realise the secoond picture was of the same plant, for some reason i thaught it was another seedling.
so, DON'T cut it, just leave it to grow

Yea in the end i decided to not cut it, she seems to be doing better as days go by so i have faith she can make it.
